Tonic – Celtic Aggression Lyrics 16 years ago
My interpretation is that it speaks of the Irish having their culture destroyed by the English and then leaving for America to escape persecution and other problems.

Iron Maiden – Run To The Hills Lyrics 18 years ago
Seriously, some of you need to take a history class...

Anyways, this song is a very loose chronicle of the Sand Creek Massacre which happened in Eastern Colorado in 1864 where Black Kettle and 200 Cheyenne men, women, and children were slaughtered while on peaceful terms flying the American flag. The song describes loosely the massacre on terms of how it was the common experience for all Native Americans during the later part of the 19th century. It looks in particular at the U.S. Federal troops fight against the Plains tribes during the Indian Wars. Both sides are portrayed in the song. Also many historical liberties have been taken as well e.g. "the use of Cree instead."

Frickin' awesome song!

Gordon Lightfoot – Cherokee Bend Lyrics 18 years ago
It's obviously a story about a Native American and his son going into Cherokee Bend where some white men make some nasty comments towards the man's son. He doesn't take it so the white men hang him. The rest of the story follows what happens to him afterwards and his disdain for how whites have treated them. I'm also pretty sure that he isn't Native Canadian.
