Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics 17 years ago
trent really is a master of these slow moving, softer songs. he doesn't do too many of them, but in my opinion, they are all excellent.

as for rwib, its possibly my favorite nin song. someone said it already, but yeah, it does beat hurt 10/10 times. and yes, it is the perfect song to close a concert with, but we all know that no big band is going to close a show with anything but a single, and this is a shame, but oh well (i really couldn't see rwib being released as a single, doesn't really fit along the lines of nin's other singles).

all in all, awesome song. period.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Wet Sand Lyrics 18 years ago
hey erren, NOOOOO, YOUR WRONG!!!!!!!!!! i am probably one of the two people on earth that actually bought stadium arcadium from the record store, but since i did i have the insert that came with it, and it has the lyrics for every song. "The disrepair of Norma Jean" are definately the correct lyrics for this song, so yes you were the first, and only one to hear the song the way you did

and I think what elessar said is perfectly correct, it makes the most sense to me out of any of the interpretations of this song so far.

“I think the "Wet Sand" part refers to a man walking at the sea shore, pretending that the girl she loves is walking beside him. But when he looked back to see their foot prints, he noticed that her feet didn't "form in the wet sand". Aww..it makes me sad.”

Think about it, you think you are walking along with a girlfriend, or someone you think is a girlfriend, through life. The problem is that this girlfriend (or boyfriend) tricks you into making it seem like they are really walking beside you through your everyday life and being on your side through the thick and thin, “walking at the sea shore, pretending that the girl he loves is walking beside him”, but in all reality, she (or he) is just a fake pretending to be something they are not; the protagonist of the song is basically thinking they are walking along with their “lover” through the thick and thin, but once they hit the beach that has wet sand on it, their footprints don’t even show, showing that they are really not walking beside them, showing that everything the “lover” of the protagonist has been fed is a lie. Hits home pretty hard to the writer, makes this song 5x more powerful than it was before, and it was a favorite of mine for a good year up until now.

Linkin Park – Valentine's Day Lyrics 18 years ago
First of all, people who think this new album sucks and that it is not linkin park can FUCK OFF. If LP kept the style Hybrid Theory and Meteora had, you fucking queers would be crying because those songs weren't up to the level of the songs off the first two albums, even though they were still similar in style. You bitches who whine will always have something to whine about, and the fact that linkin park decided to try something a bit different is a perfect example of that.

To me, this song (and pretty much any song made) can be looked at any way the beholder observes it. To me, it is definately about a relationship ending one way or the other though.

I can see this song as descibing mourning ones death very easily, "a black wind took you/them away", this black wind could very easily be death. And people who say it is simply about breaking up with someone just because it talks about being alone on valentines day don't take into account that him saying "so now your gone, and i was wrong..." could definately be him explaining that he was wrong because he previously thought it wouldn't be all that bad to be alone on Valentines Day, but now that his lover has died and he is alone, he hates every second of it.

This song can obviously be interpreted as a relationship that failed that he didn't really want to end. He could be wrong for the same reason as i already explained, except for them breaking up as opposed to the other dying. And in the case of a broken relationship, the black wind could simply be the falling out of the relationship.

Yet again, in my opinion, music is whatever the eye of the beholder chooses it to be, and there could be millions of other interpretations for this song, But the two I explained are the most obvious to me.

ya, add me to the list of real life examples of this song. fucking women... even though this song reminds me of all the pain that my relationship ended up causing, it kicks ass nonetheless, one of the top three songs on the album.
