I didn't read the other comments, so not sure if anyone said this yes. I've spent so much time Throwing rocks at your window That I never even knocked On your front door makes me think that a person spent so much time hinting to someone that they love them (throwing rocks), but never actually came flat out and told them (knocking on the front door). I walk by statues Never even made one chip But if I could leave a mark On the monument of the heart I just might lay myself down For a little more than I had she has dealt with so many people (statues) in her life, but has never actually made an impression on anyone or changed anyone's life (never even made one chip). if she could have changed someone's life then she would give herself more credit instead of having low self-esteem. The last day The last day The last day for some reason, I get the idea in my head of suicide. the last day to live because she has done nothing real with her life and she can't handle knowing that people don't pay attention to her and many probably don't even know she exists. Wait a time To spare these lies we tell ourselves These days have come and gone But this time is sweeter than honey wait a time, give it one more day, get out of your gloomy thoughts (lies we tell ourselves) and realize you can still make a difference in the world. her thoughts are changing (these days have come and gone) and she is going to try harder to change things, give herself one more chance (this time is sweeter than honey). this is my take on the song. this is absolutely my most favorite song from evanescence and even if amy lee came out and said my interpretation was completely wrong, I couldn't help but think her song is meant to be exactly how I described it. sorry if I repeated things everyone said, but I didn't read the other comments. |
