To me the interpretation is that he's trying to help someone he loves, but she resists him. He just wants the one he loves to be with him, instead of fighting it. In the beginning he's talking about maybe how she's reached that point. "Your flowers are withering" etc. But then he moves on to explain that he's there for her, waiting all alone She's like her father, whatever is wrong with him He knows she wants to be with him, but there's something holding her back. Then he goes on to explain how she has such a profound effect on him yet she won't be with him. Essentially he's saying to give up the fight and just be with him. I could be completely wrong though. |

To me this song is a reference to Romeo and Juliet.. cast the pearls aside, of a simple life of need [ set aside the fact they arent supposed to be together in order to love] come into my life forever the crumbled cities stand as known [ the fighting between the capulets and montagues cause a crumbled city as the prince said] of the sights you have been shown of the hurt you call your own [ one again to the fighting and how their familes have different views] love is suicide the empty bodies stand at rest casualties of their own flesh [they are dead because they were so much in love] afflicted by their dispossession but no bodies ever knew nobodys no bodies felt like you [ the parents didnt understand how they felt] nobodys love is suicide now we drive the night, to the ironies of peace [ ironic because their deaths brought peace to the families] you can't help deny forever the tragedies reside in you [the tragedy was the families fault] the secret sights hide in you the lonely nights divide you in two all my blisters now revealed in the darkness of my dreams in the spaces in between us [ the darkness was where they met literally but figuratively it meant their fate , death] but no bodies ever knew nobodys no bodies felt like you nobodys love is suicide idk tell me what you think |
