I think it's about both a long-distance relationship and having to wait for something. It's kind of what I'm going through now... We have to wait and see how it goes when we are back in school in the fall, because right now we are "hundreds of miles" away from each other so we can't put a relationship together. We didn't really admit to liking each other until right before school ended, so "don't know what you're made of 'til the one thing that you want is coming with the dawn and suddenly changes" means a lot to me; our relationship was finally starting to come together, but the year ended (came with the dawn, but suddenly changed). Now we are going to see what our relationship is "made of" and find out if the relationship is even worth it. It's the "first thing that arises" in my mind when I wake up and not knowing how it will turn out really is driving me crazy (bending you til you break). The last time we saw each other we just were with each other, not really saying anything. I know I'm trying to be patient, but I'm scared about what could happen. luckily the line that says "baby don't forget we haven't lost it all yet" kind of gives me hope... it's not over yet, it's just a speed bump we have to get over. We can't know anything about it; "all we know for sure is all that we are fighting for" and when we finally see each other again we still may not know what to do (we may still have no answer). |

I'm almost completely positive it's "...clean/up the mess SHE left." It sounds better that way anyway. She's already planning on him leaving and/or he already left so she can clean up the mess HE left? That sounds completely opposite of the song. I think the song is about actually falling in love instead of having a relationship that's all about the physical things. I know all my relationships have been pushed to be more physical than anything and this song is my anthem now. It will definitely keep me strong when I get pushed in that direction, if I ever do. So my two anthems: "Miss Independent" and this song, both by Kelly. Great job :) PS: I like it cleaner. I've listen to Katy's and Kelly's and I think it's kind of impossible to have a relationship that doesn't have anything physical to do with it (maybe that's only the experiences I've had, lol) so "keep it in your pants" is kind of weird. |

i wish people would evaluate this song without the Twilight reference... I understand it's for Twilight specifically, but it actually makes me hate the song because it's about one of the worst series of books in the spotlight right now. too bad. i had hope for the song. |

I don't understand how it bothers you that someone else interprets it as a song about God. A song doesn't have to mean ONE thing: it can mean many things to different people. For example, one day I will think it's about my own struggle to find God, and the next I will think it is an inspiration to reach out to my loved ones and "find them" when they are lost and in pain. A song that has many different interpretations makes for a fantastic song. |

to ME it's about someone who has been hurt in a relationship so they just sit around. they want to move on but they just can't get the courage up, so the narrator is telling him to burn their old way of viewing things and go after the girl who wants to be with him as much as he wants to be with her because this one is the right one. so finally he burns it down and can see that everything is going to be fine and he's free of worrying about it anymore. |

i LOVE the "Crush... Crush... Crush...Crush, crush" part. it's like that's all she can think about and at first she thinks about it a little bit but by the end it's all she can think about. this song is sad. but in a "whatever, i can't be with you so i'll think about you all the time instead" kind of way. |

definitely the best christmas song ever... someone already said that,but it's so true. someone else suggested that it's about the three wise men. this could be interpreted as God saying these things. i haven't read all of the comments, mostly because i got bored, but that's my opinion. God is giving light as His love for His son and everyone else, and that is True Love. when the world dies, His light will be the guide to heaven. read the lyrics in that state of mind, it makes sense. sorry, didn't mean to get all righteous on you. :] |
