I agree that it is about a drug addiction, specifically heroin. But, it can apply to any addiction, chemical or emotional. It can be about the dumb things we do for the emotional highs and lows of life. Before I could relate to it personally, I always linked it to Richie in The Royal Tenenbaums. The low of realizing that your long, loving obsession has been completely fruitless and was a waste. You feel isolated and alone, ready to die. |
