| I like the mood this song gives off. Kind of relaxing. The meaning, to me, is about being done with a road block in life. Specifically, it sounds like the singer is telling another person to leave their life. It could be any kind of antagonist: ex-girlfriend, ex-friend, etc. that they are telling to leave. Basically, the singer wants to start a clean slate and move on. | |

The song is amazing. It is a great combination of random sounds and sad lyrics. His voice is so full of emotion.Their music video is also amazing on youtube or their dvd. I think the meaning of the song is about a breakup. One of the people in the breakup, the singer, is having a harder time with the breakup than the other person. Everything they had with the other person is gone, and they can't believe it. They are still in shock and all they can say is: "i guess i'll forget you, i'll try and forget you". The other person has probably moved on already, but the singer is still stunned at what happened. That's my suggestion. Enjoy Black Heart Procession! |

** Everyone has their own opinion on music, and this is mine: I believe it is a song written from the viewpoint of a person with a broken heart. Their relationship has just ended, and they are lost in what to do next- "I awoke, cold and alone Adrift in the open sea Caught up in regrets and tangled in nets Instead of your arms wrapped around me" (They play over and over in their head what went wrong and can't stop thinking about what they've lost) "And I wept but my tears are anathema here Just more water to fill my lungs I hear someone scream "God what is it we have done?" (their tears are a curse that makes the situation worse. They are already depressed and falling into depression over the heartache, and the tears just reinforce the feeling of loss and lonliness.they hear screaming, perhaps they cry out what the couple did wrong to lose the love they once shared) "I am drowning in a digital sea I am slipping beneath the sound Here my voice goes, to ones and zeroes I'm slipping beneath the sound" (The only surroundings this person found comfort in are music, the "digital sea". They find solace in the lyrics of others going through the same pain, and even get lost in it...drowning in a digital sea) "A song, somewhere below Deadly and slow begins Sickly and sweet Now picking up speed Ushering in the world's end And the ghost of Descarte Screams again in the dark Oh how could I have been so wrong But above the screams still the sirens sing their songs" (The songs' messages start to sound the same, that heartache is inevitable and there is no escaping the pain.
