Flyleaf – Sorrow Lyrics 12 years ago
I think 'He' refers to God. Soon God will be with her always, rather than for moments at a time. This is always true, but as we become more spiritual we just recognize it more.

Tool – Swamp Song Lyrics 12 years ago
Definitely about drugs. Maynard has spoken before about how he believes a lot of people who take hallucinogens participate in "spiritual theft", meaning that they don't understand the power of what they're meddling with and are taking the drugs simply for a good time. When they find what's really there, it can overwhelm them, and oftentimes it leads to addiction.

I think this is a big "fuck you" to those he believes to be committing spiritual theft. It reminds me of my ex.

It's okay for good things to be mainstream. Really.

The Civil Wars – Poison & Wine Lyrics 12 years ago
I think it's about a breakup, or any two people who love each other but have to go their separate ways because it can't work for whatever reason. The love is there, but it's not enough in this situation. Pretty heartbreaking, but beautiful nonetheless.

The Beatles – Within You Without You Lyrics 14 years ago
"This song is not about 'LSD'..people cant think or what? 'when you see beyond yourself' is whichever way..looking at a poor man..read something significant..a near death experience or even a cheesy break-up..a helpless feeling basically.."

Have you ever taken LSD? It's an extremely spiritual and moving experience, and while I agree with you that the song itself is not about LSD, it most certainly incorporates what is revealed to you after you trip. You see life completely differently after tripping... so the song isn't about the drug, but it's about the change in perspective, if that makes sense.

If you've ever taken LSD it is completely and totally obvious that this song is about the drug.

Why does it have to be about religion? Can't she make a song about a video came? Come the fuck on.

Taylor Swift – Dear John Lyrics 15 years ago
"I don't honestly know if I like this song yet. I'm kind of thinking I don't. It makes me kind of want to say to her, "Well, Taylor, what did you think you'd be getting yourself into with an older man? Stick to boys your own age if you can't handle it.""

That's really not fair to say. You haven't been in the situation, and you have no idea what it's like. Men like this have the ability to completely fool you, and when you're that young... Well it's hard to see through them.

Taylor Swift – Dear John Lyrics 15 years ago
This song... Every single word speaks to me. The man I was dating (24 and I was 18) was an alcoholic with no job. He eventually did get a job, but ended up quitting that like the first one. Anyway, he was emotionally abusive as well as physically a few times. He was too drunk to remember those times and still accuses me of lying about it. Well, we had a huge fight and almost broke up, but I came over to see him because he convinced me to... While I was there I saw needle marks in his arms and just knew he had been doing heroin (he had done it before I was dating him but according to him had since stopped). I found the heroin later and flushed it down his toilet, but that really was the last straw. He had isolated me to the point where I had no one else beyond my family, but thankfully I have a few close friends back now. His name was John, too.

Thank you Taylor.

Neverending White Lights – Distance Lyrics 15 years ago
It is about what could have been if the distance had not been there... And I do believe it was physical distance that caused the emotional distance.

The Sleeping – Don't Hold Back Lyrics 18 years ago
I adore this song. Every time I hear it, I want to get up and start dancing (sometimes I do).

It's definitely about sex, but I think it's more than that. It's also an emotional "don't hold back". He really wants to see this girl in a way he's never seen her before, emotionally as well as physically.

Mostly, I think he just wrote this song so I'd have something to dance to. Yep.
