I agree with blackemma about the Solidarity Forever. This is also a reference to the culture of Albert Street, later in the song. Albert Street (in Winnipeg, where the band hails from) is home to probably the most politically active businesses and people in the city. Solidarity Forever is the undeclared anthem of Albert Street and the anarchist activists who make it their home. So the fact that the Spector (as used in Communist Manifesto) is haunting ALBERT Street is quite significant. |

The line "1000 sharpened elbows in the underground" is a reference to the underground mall in Winnipeg called Winnipeg Square, but nicknamed "the underground". This mall is directly underneath Winnipeg's downtown and major office buildings. The vast majority of people who go to the underground are uptight business people (hence 1000 sharpened elbows). |
