| This song is about the duality of possession. He's saying he doesn't need much, but the few things he has are absolute necessities to him, and he's going to do the bare minimum to pay for them (change at the beach, riding the bus instead of owning a car) and people wonder why he lives this alternative low-income lifestyle and/or are jealous of the freedom he has (that's me inside your head). Linoleum catches change that he drops, and whatever else he loses from his pockets, as well as gives him something to sleep on during wasted nights. Linoleum is a good friend. | |

When I first heard this song, I thought it was about masturbation... "we couldn't stop the irresistable force" I suppose it could be about anything that someone else doesn't want you to do, be it the government, parents, school administrations, etc. and probably isn't really about masturbation, as I had once thought. |
