| Thom Yorke – Videotape Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i disagree with the symbol of the mind, i think its about suicide. but ye ur right its a superb end to the album "This is my way of saying goodbye Because I can't do it face to face I'm talking to you after it's too late From my videotape" he is to afraid to say that he wants to die to the person he cares about the most, so he is saying goodbye. The videotape is his suicide note, and it will be watched once he is already dead and his body has been found. I remember watching a documentary about a guy who was born into a famous sex cult in america and was consequently molested as a child within that cult. his whole life he hated his mother and what she made himn go through, so he killed her, and then killed himself leaving a videotape behind for his girlfriend. The most perfect day he ever saw was when he finally found solace in his vengeance. untill that last day where he killed his mother and himself his day could not be perfect because the memories always lingered. im not saying the song is about this particular story, but it is a tale that goes well with the song. I am convinced its suicide i dont see any other meaning |

| Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics | 18 years ago |

looking at the song in its written form, and using its structure you can turn it into a conversation between two beings: "Kid A, Kid A, Kid A, Kid A Everything, everything, everything, everything.. In its right place In its right place In its right place Right place" Here, the speaker is adressing Kid A, and assuring him that everything is in its right place. "Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon" Kid A responds: "YESTERDAY I woke up sucking a lemon" he has not just woken up, he is speaking about the day before, so he is adressing something that upset him up to the present. He is possibly at the same time contesting the one adressing him, saying everything is not in its right place, although that may just be unconscious. "Everything, everything, everything.. In its right place In its right place Right place" again, the hypnotizing repetition of assurance. everything, all of it, is there where it should be. "There are two colours in my head There are two colours in my head What is that you tried to say? What was that you tried to say? Tried to say.. tried to say.. Tried to say.. tried to say.." Two colours. what does it mean? Is it simple contrast? I think it means all he sees now has its opposite in another thing. Not everything is dandy.. What is that you tried to say? What was that you tried to say? the change from is and was shows past and present. He disagrees with what has been said and is being said by the other speaker. Kid A is almost sarcastically responding to the affirmation. I say this because he says: "you TRIED to say". Meaning that it is partially or completely nonsensical to Kid A. Things are not so perfect in his world. good can only be seen as good if the bad is present. throughout the song he does not respond positively to the statement. And the song finishes... Everything in its right place |
