I think it's about how people are really screwing themselves over, whether on a personal or worldly level. I think in the first verse, he's talking about how no matter how much people say that things are changing, they're getting better, they're improving...they're really not. There's so much crap happening behind the scenes that most people don't know about.
As for the verse about the girl. I think it's pretty obvious that she got herself into an abusive relationship and ran away to become famous. (The reference to the cover of the magazine.)
Also, I think he's saying we can't blame God or the gods or anything else for what WE do. It's our own fault, and we need to turn around and go the other way before we do some serious damage to oursevles. |

I think it's about how two people got into a relationship way too fast and now they're both kind of ruined. I also get the feeling that they're seperated, but he promises to stick by her side as a friend and help her through it, and when it's all over he'll remember that experience forever. |

I think it means that even though there's all this crap going on in the world, the singer keeps doing what he does best -- dancing, dating, living it up -- and it gets him by. |

Maybe the girl is one of his really good friends, and she's so perfect that he's scared to get into something deeper with her. He's scared of losing her completely. But she's his "satelite" -- the thing he always looks up to. Idk. |
