sorry, but the people talking about time travel on the first few pages, along with our youth and innocence is freakin hilarious... Find the comic series "Armory Wars", then come back and listen again |

ok, so i've just recently gotten into C&C. this stuff is incredible. i'd like to think "eyesarechaos" has nailed the story on this song. I've gotten ahold of the first series of comics and I've noticed people calling jesse "Prize Fighter" is it not "Prise Fighter" ? |

i saw this video a looong time ago, and while the music isn't really my style, i gave it a listen since the vid caught my eye. immediately, his voice reminded me of Freddie Mercury. I at least gave him his due, the guy can sing like hell. Now, i caught a commercial for Big Girls, and remembered the way he reminded me of Mercury. Big Girls... "Fat Bottomed Girls" ??? Not knocking him, just found it funny. Could he be Freddie re-incarnated, lol ? |

don't see a religious message at all. i see it more as a person reflecting on himself until, at the end of the song he kills himself. runs into traffic, and the last lines are people that saw it happen. seems like he used to have his life on track, used to be that "stand up guy" but some event, or addictions (his millstone round his neck) is something he can't escape, and suicide is the only way out |

this song always felt like a "Rocky" (yes the boxer)fight. The fast, heavy beginnings of the fight, then Rocky starts to lose.... Then they do that "quick round" sorta thing in the movies... With the slow, melodic part. As it builds to the solos, Rocky starts to win again, and they're goin back and forth.... Straight to the heavy parts again, Rocky wins ! haha... |

Speaking out against the fan "backlash" of the newer sound of The Hip. Someone touched on in in the "No Threat" comments. Doing the same old thing, playing the same old style and sound of music could become "mundane". Needing, or growing into a newer sound, "a new tradition" . A "poet in the service" would be Gord, serving the fans the newer material while getting looks of digust "like i was eating runny eggs in slow motion". just my thoughts |

i don't so much see it as "overcoming" something. i agree with the metephor for "the ocean" being an individual. like wackakapow said, i see it as denial, while the "impact" grows through the song. "up to my toes, standing on my toes" and by the end "up to my chin" Kinda saying "you don't mean as much as you think" but slowly he realizes this "person" means more. |

Himmler being Hitlers second in command basically... could be a "lesser of 2 evils" reference. Himmler was Hitlers trigger man though. I dunno, help me out here |

Been racking my brain over this one... could be a few different things...
Could be to a young person, or the young generation in general. saying go experience the world for yourself. "world container" could be the old saying "world in your hands" like it's right there.
Couls also be some sort of political "coded" message... The Himmler part could also be a couple different things |
