Brandon Flowers – Magdalena Lyrics 15 years ago
Lyrics need fixed:

"depths of darkness" instead of "debts of darkness"
"a federales life" instead of "a federales light"
"in the old Artu cantina, Cups will runneth over the ancient clay" instead of whatever is up there for those two lines.
"When I return to evil throes" instead of "Will I return to evil throws"

Great job. I wanted to explain this after reading the comments a few days ago, but my experience with pilgrimages is more in el camino de Santiago than Mexico and didn't want to talk about something I wasn't an expert on, even if I knew the comments were a little off.

Bob Dylan – Simple Twist of Fate Lyrics 18 years ago
This song shares a lot thematically with the French symbolist poetry of Paul Verlaine, whom Dylan mentions on the same album in the song You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go. Overall, they share the idea of pessimistic, resigned love. Most convincingly, the first verse of this song is definitely a reference to Paul Verlaine's poem "Colloque sentimentale," which is about a couple walking through a park at night during the winter, talking about the love they used to have. One of the voices in the poem is clearly still in love, while the other is not interested.
