before reading a lot of the comments, i thought this song was about a pedophile who stops loving the kids after they get older. definitely fucked up but what sparked it was the chorus And you're not going anywhere without me These trials don't prepare the error of You're not telling anyone about me And you shake and you plead while I sing my song anyway, i think there are a lot of other connections but i like the interpretation of the pretty faces being the crowds at the shows and him not trusting himself better. |

i definitely don't think it's pro america. obviously sams town, uncle sam, credits to apologetic_tAle24 however he talks about looking inside the bullet as an american masquerade and its like saying the war and everything is unnecessary. the red white and blue on a birthday cake stanza i think he just lists some face value of america like stuff that other people would care about but shouldn't as he says "thats all" and then hits the chorus of why do you waste my time.. as far as the energy beneath my feet stanza i think he's had enough of america and even though he may have ties here and there, he's done with it. sorry its all out of order.. |
