Really? Even Dolorosa that ends with "Jesus I hope you're coming back soon?" A person's songs exude who they are, even if Chris may not have meant to make any of his songs have a Christian message, they include his background in Christianity as well as his current struggles with faith in God. |

great hymn cover. the line "When I was wandering in darkness away
Jesus my Savior I met" is so beautiful and always gets me because I was wandering in darkness and Jesus found me. I was seeking my own selfish desires and Christ found me and called me to Him, what a beautiful picture of salvation. The song ends with such passion, it always stirs up feeling inside and brings tears to my eyes :') |

I can hear so many influences in this song, mostly Bone Thugz and the middle eastern sound, gotta love it. I think this song is about how we can get along as people if we make our identity in God as we commune together "bread dripping" or maybe dipping. My favorite line: "Impossible to break the seal of the High Priest," Matisyahu maybe waiting for the Messiah to come, but I'm grateful to know that Messiah as Jesus who is the High Priest, who has sealed our hearts with the Holy Spirit, for those who believe, with a seal that will never be broken. SO AWESOME!!! love this song. |

WOW. such a vivid picture, she stands there in a dark room crying over a mistake she's made, he just stares at her, and he can't even believe that they are at this point, he wants to be sympathetic but he's ashamed of her. |

| The National – Looking for Astronauts Lyrics

To me this song is about a woman that slept around. The line "we're out looking for astronauts" paints a picture of two lovers staring at a black sky with stars. Maybe this woman wasn't American maybe some European girl and he's admitting in a sort of mock of himself that she has a piece of his medium sized heart. I think "medium sized" refers to a lack of care or too much apathy. And he's in an argument with her telling her it's too late, and it's already gone. THen he tells her to take all her reasons away, like he doesn't want to hear any more excuses, take them out to the middle of nowhere so they could be left there to die, and while you drive back get rid of your horrible records (maybe he thought her taste in music was bad, maybe she was one of those French girls that listened to old records... haha, i dunno) or maybe throwing the record collection out of the window symbolizes anger or frustration, if it's going to stay consistent with my interpretation it would be that he's breaking up with her, telling her he doesn't want excuses and "by the way I never liked the music you listen to."
"they all run together and they never make sense" could be a reference to those records, at first I took this to mean that she has a shallow taste in music and all she's looking for is some cheap feeling from a song, and something to "hunt" like you find a song and kill it. Or it could mean that her arguments and excuses run together, don't make sense and that she just wants to argue, be emotional and accuse. But he still admits that she has his heart and he tells her not to wear the watch he gave to her as a present when she's around these sleazy guys she sleeps with.... or girls. and "You can break what you have but the rest of it's mine" may refer to the piece of his heart that she has, and he wants her to break it off, or it could also display a very selfish "have your cake and eat it too" attitude that she has.
And that's my crazy interpretation of this song. It's very visual, it paints a wonderful story. |

LOVE this song! again this band does an amazing job giving you the impression that you're on the sea, or by a large body of water. Their repetitive jams just seem to match the ups and downs of water. |

The absolutely amazing thing about this song is that the guitars are simulating the sounds waves make as they go up and down and finally crash against something. It's like the setting is being painted by the words and the music. The tension of this song picks up to give the listener the impression of the storm is getting worse and the ship is slowly losing the fight. Absolutely brilliant song. |

Absolutely beautiful song! I love the violin, this song just puts you into a slow drone head nod at some points of the song, one of the reasons why I love Sharks Keep Moving. Could this song be talking about the boring city scapes that could never compare to the natural ones we have around us? Save for some spots, the west is really losing it's natural beauty, and even if the natural beauty is there, people just stay in cities where they become lifeless busybodies. |
