I know, right? Martin Scorsese seems to like it a whole lot, seeing as it's been on the soundtrack of a lot of his big films like Goodfellas, Casino and The Departed. |

Woah! This is amazing to me that no one has even said one word about this song. It's a great song, and it's pretty straightforward, too. |

The meaning of this song is very straightforward. Just listen to the lyrics. It's about a man who's woman left him, and he was devastated over it. He couldn't forget about her until he found someone new that loved him even more than the woman who left him. It's a good song that has a scenario I hope to realize someday. My girl left me for no good reason whatsoever. I guess that's up to me. |

Great song to dance or party to, but that's about it. There was no real deep meaning to disco. It was just feel good music to help raise the morale of people while dealing with the heavy burdens of the late '70s. |

We Didn't Start the Fire is not that hard. I want you is so much harder than We didn't start the fire. And why didn't you mention One Week by Barenaked Ladies in the top 3? Just ditch We Didn't Start the Fire and replace it with One Week. But I do have to agree with you on Point/Counterpoint. |

What happened to good music like this? The '90s was a great GREAT time for music (especially alternative). Shit, even the pop music was good (as much as I hate to admit it). It seems '98 had a lot of good music. 3AM by Matchbox 20, The Way by Fastball and One Week by Barenaked Ladies. God, I miss the '90s--no economic crisis, no Bush, no war, no Paris Hilton (or other celebs) getting the top story on all the cable news networks (in fact, I don't remember caring much about cable news at all in the '90s), and hardly any cookie-cutter, mass-produced same song over and over again like we have in this decade.
On a different note:
I had a friend who could sing this song from start to finish. It was great whenever he'd play the song, and sing along and no one else could. Friggin hilarious and awesome. |
