| Samhain – Mother of Mercy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Sounds to me like he says "We all earned our time in Hell" Always reminds me of that old epitaph "And when he gets to Heaven, To St. Peter he will tell: 'One more Marine reporting, Sir -- I've served my time in Hell.'" Could be a variation on that. I think Glenn's dad was a marine. |

| I definitely agree with Iovereplica's interpretation. Watch the extended music video, and it will all become clear. | |
| Alice Cooper – Hallowed Be My Name Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Great song from a great album, I think it's about how so many church going christians are both self-righteous and hypocritical, just going to church to keep of a facade of righteousness. "The lords and the ladies were fixing their hairdos cursing their lovers cursing the bible" This describes a dysfunctional family getting ready for church while arguing amongst themselves and not showing a whole lot of love for each other. "yelling at fathers screaming at mothers" The child doesn't respect either of his parents because they're not setting the example they claim they are as christians. "Sluts and the hookers have taken your money the queens are out dancing but now they're not funny 'cause there goes one walkin' away with your sonny cursing their lovers cursing the bible" The father and mother are both out commiting adultery and not paying attention to their son who is now with a whore. "Hallowed be my name" Christianity is supposed to be about love towards others and to God, but some are so high on a pedestal that they serve and worship themselves instead. |

| Dir En Grey – Agitated Screams of Maggots Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| ummm.... this isn't death metal. I listen to death metal, and this isn't it. If you wanna know what death metal is, check out Cannibal Corpse or Death. | |
| Dir En Grey – Reiketsu Nariseba Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Lol guys, isn't it obvious? This song is about LINKIN PARK XD. |

Lol dude, epic win! Seriously though, it was a pretty weird version. Cool, but weird. Wasn't what I was expecting. |

| Dir En Grey – Doukoku to Sarinu (English) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think this song is about how our generation has been raised. "Colorless and transparent Limitless recklessness How will you fit in? Forcing M Compensation for those you can't see" Parents being apathetic and indifferent to their kids, the youth is instead influenced by their peers. Instead of thinkign for themselves, they conform to each other, focused on fitting in. They have a general attitude of rebellion and recklessness. "Cries In Vain Go Mad The vague rebellion Cries In Vain Ways To Destroy Your Ambition Reborn" Our generation has an attitude of rebellion against everything in general. Nothing specific, they just want to rebel and cry. They destroy their future by making bad choices in the name of rebelling and fitting in with the crowd. "Whose fault is it that I can't trust anymore? The Sun talks skillfully, bringing in choices that look good on the outside but are just dead ends The body absorbs it all Even mercy stains the unspoken skin and keeps a secret of those pains that overflow Rot away Without you" Our generation is encouraged by the media and each other to have promiscuous sex, abuse drugs, and steal. These actions seem fun on the outside, but when all is said and done, they are devoid of any real meaning. We carry these actions and their consequences inside us always, rotting. "Without not having anyone to blame I start to go crazy" As we get older, our apathetic lifestyle catches up with us, but it's too late. "So what if it's fate, destroy it" I think this is a message of encouragement to destroy the ill-fated future we've set up for ourselves. |
|
| Dir En Grey – Inconvenient Ideal (English) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I definetly think it's about abortion. "The morals swallowed by the waves, sway inside the basket and sleep" Much like Jaitara already said, he's describing how our sense of morality and meaning is slipping away in a world where people can have promiscuous sex then snuff out the responsibility and meaning that comes with it. "Was it freedom that we won?"I almost cried when I read this. Wagahomodachi, I think this line definitely fits with the abortion theme. In the name of freedom, we're taking the lives of our unborn babies obviously without their consent. Also, our own freedom is tainted with guilt, and having meaningful relationships with others is becoming more and more difficult. |

| Cannibal Corpse – Blowtorch Slaughter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Some people just take CC lyrics too seriously. CC is all about being brutal, musically and lyrically. Yes it's meaningsless, and comedic, what matters most is the music! | |
| Cannibal Corpse – Hacksaw Decapitation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's not about being poetic, it's about pure brutality! It's not meant to be taken seriously, it's just meant to headbang to! Fucking awesome song, CC fucking rules! | |
| White Zombie – Black Sunshine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
lol insane metal fan, i think you're only getting those references because you're high. Kick ass song, THIS IS BLACK FUCKING SUNSHINE! |
|
| Children of Bodom – In Your FAce Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I see why you'd think that carrier, but I think it fits the song: simple, aggressive, and catchy (I don't give a flying fuck motherfucker!). These lyrics are completely off tho. |
|
| Children of Bodom – Touch Like Angel Of Death Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Once again, I'm pretty sure these lyrics have to do with the Lake Bodom murders. One of the reasons Nils Gustafsson was suspected was because the authorities believed he exploded in jealous rage over the female camper, with whom he was in a relationship with. |
|
| Metallica – Die, Die My Darling (Misfits cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I gotta say that Metallica's version wipes the floor with Misfit's version. It's way more refined and focused in both the instruments and the vocals, Misfit's is just noisy. Just my opinion. | |
| Gorillaz – Rock The House Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't really like this one. | |
| Gorillaz – Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Didn't like it at first, but it's actually pretty cool now that I'm really listening to it. | |
| Gorillaz – Double Bass Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| rogues-revenge and BoyNamedTim, the exact same thing happened to me as well, except I was reading. | |
| Gorillaz – Sound Check (Gravity) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Great song. I love the mood it puts you in, it's really soothing. As for the meaning, it's about gravity (duh). | |
| Final Fantasy – One Winged Angel (English) (Final Fantasy VII) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Probably my all time favorite song. So powerful. | |
| Dir En Grey – Glass Skin (Uroboros version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Kyo's english has really gotten a lot better. I could hear most of the song without checking the booklet. I think I like this version a little better than the single. | |
| Dir En Grey – Bugaboo (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Shiboo, I think you might be right on the money. My first thoughts on the lyrics was that it was about a woman that can't seem to find love anywhere, and so offers herself sexually to people to find out if that's what love is all about, in the end having a feeling of emptiness, lonliness, and eventually insanity. Your interpretation works really well tho, so I think I agree with you. | |
| Dir En Grey – Vinushka (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| lol I started to post the lyrics for this song when it wasn't up yet, but it was too tedious and painful. | |
| Evanescence – Whisper Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| My favorite song from Evanescence. The lyrics are about not giving in and being tough. Facing your fears instead of running away from them. I love the chanting at the end too. | |
| Dir En Grey – Glass Skin (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Obviously the song is about the aftermath of an ended relationship. "The merry-go-round playing alone" "emptier still than any tears of comedy" "there is a ferris-wheel, where I can look down and see you from" It sounds like they probably spent a lot of time having fun and joking around. Maybe the narrator didn't think that their relationship was a really serious one until they became seperated. Now he realizes how much he needs her. Good song, the lyrics' quality is going back up. I always like how the lyrics imagery and symbolism give clues to the song's meaning. |
|
| Evanescence – Everybody's Fool Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The video for this song is so great! "There's nothing better than a good lie!" |
|
| Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song is about suicide, they said so in an interview. It's about the question of whether a christian who commits suicide will still go to heaven or not. | |
| Evanescence – Haunted (Fallen version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Great song, one of their best. Amy Lee is amazing! As for the interpretation, it could be about a person she remembers like TheGlass is 1/2full says, but I think it's more about fear and insecurity itself, and not letting it consume you or pull you down. |
|
| Serj Tankian – Lie Lie Lie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| bman1225cal is right I think. Serj just made up this amusing drama to go along with the music. I think because Serj is so political, people put political meanings into all of his songs, even when that wasn't his intention. | |
| Dir En Grey – Grief (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This isn't my favorite Diru song, but I was addicted to it from the first time I heard it (even when I didn't like it at first, if that makes sense, I couldn't stop listening to it or get it out of my head). To me this song is about anger towards religion, or just hypocritical ass-holes in general. I think of this song whenever I'm at church, I just wanna scream "Shut up, that's fucking bullshit!!!" | |
| Dir En Grey – Child Prey (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
killswitch 916 yes, those lyrics are the ones found in the Vulgar booklet. Whoa, I really don't think it's about abortion. I think Summanaro got it right. It's about that child-like state when we need attention. "Kiss me kill me love me" That simple longing for love, and if not love, any kind of attention. But eventually reality sets in, and the innocence fades. |
|
| Dir En Grey – Repetition of Hatred (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It sounds more like he's saying "I'll Kill You Dead Passion". I think the song might actually be about abortion. It's about the hatred the mother feels for the child and she just wants to kill it. She thinks of them as "parasite children of hatred". "dead passion" means she has no passion for her children. Kyo has written many songs about abortion, but none describe the mother as a hateful bitch like this one does. That's my interpretation anyway. | |
| Dir En Grey – The Deeper Vileness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think you're probably all right. This song is aimed at Kisaki and musical sell-outs! "Death for all!" I would guess it's mostly about Kisaki and how he betrayed him and stole his girl, and is a musical sell-out. | |
| Dir En Grey – Conceived Sorrow (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I don't think this song is about losing anyone. I think it's just an expression of sadness caused by lonliness and not believing in love. Having nothing to believe in, every day seems dismal and goes by before you know it. "The gloomy morning has already died" This song also expresses a longing to be comforted in spite of oneself: "I want to fall asleep in the innocent gentleness with the tears It just echoes beyond the red sky in the background The cries can not be... heard anymore" I haven't lost a wife/husband and child, but I can definetaly relate to this song to the point of tears. Kyo's lyrics speak to everyone, whether they've been through true hell and everyone they love has died, or if they are simply unhappy because of a heavy feeling of lonliness, and that's why they have such a large fanbase. He connects with people. |

| Dir En Grey – Dozing Green Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Another good J-Rock band is X JAPAN | |
| Moi Dix Mois – Eternally Beyond Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Seriously cool song. First one of Moi dix Mois I ever heard. I agree with sakisaka's comment -sipping some pepsi- | |
| Moi Dix Mois – Ange Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| really cool! Actually I just started listening to this group, and so far am really enjoying it. It is elegant and beautiful while at the same time kicking ass! | |
| Dir En Grey – Grief (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is insane!!I didn't like it at first, but changed my mind after realizing it's really good to listen to when you're pissed, especially when you're pissed off at people who are full of bullshit! | |
| X Japan – I'll Kill You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| lol nice line Dave667. "Its a give and take situation. X gives us the best music ever made, and you take my foot in your ass." Very Nice! X rules!! Nobody that listens to music can diss them!! The intro to this song is really cool too!! | |
| Dir En Grey – Agitated Screams of Maggots Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Really cool song! And I agree for the most part with Andoru's analysis, except that I do think the "I'll rape your daughter on your grave" line is out of hatred, and in exacting his revenge he has himself become a monster himself, which would explain the line "I should die!" I think the music video goes along with this idea. At first, it seems like it's about the monster's revenge for killing whatever it was having sex with before the girl stepped on them both, but then it shifts to the girl getting revenge for her mother the monster kills. In exacting revenge, we create situations where others would take revenge on us. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain the rest of the video to me (like why does she become a fairy at the end???). | |
| Dir En Grey – Taiyou No Ao (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| That's pretty messed up. No wonder kyo doesn't think to highly of people in general. By the way Shishido, you're full of shit. You have no ways, you're fantasizing. | |
| Dir En Grey – Zakuro (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It sounds like it's about someone that died or left and now all that's left is the memories. | |
| Dir En Grey – Rasetsu Koku (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Is it just me, or does this song sound slightly X-Japan inspired? Dir en grey does like them after all. Anyway, it's a really cool song! | |
| Dir En Grey – Rasetsu Koku Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song kicks ass! Shinya rocks!Maybe it's just me, but does this song almost sound X-Japan inspired? They do like X Japan after all, and Yoshiki actually worked with them for a little while. | |
| Dir En Grey – Audrey (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Really good song. I was reading the lyrics and thinking about what they meant, then looked at child_preyx's interpretation and was like "cool I was right". | |
| Dir En Grey – Berry (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| really creepy intro. The song has such an upbeat melody, probably expressing the joy the girl felt killing her abusing parents. | |
| Dir En Grey – Saku (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think it's about the kid in the video feels guilt haunting him after he murdered his parents, and he wishes he could go back to the way things were. He had parents, got pissed and killed them, and now he has nothing. | |
| Dir En Grey – R To The Core (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| to me, this song seems to be talking about the subject matter in kyo's lyrics than Dir en grey's style change. Maybe people made fun of how negative his lyrics were or something. | |
| System of a Down – Aerials Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I completely agree with thinkNOW. This song is about people keeping seperated from each other, but in reality we are all one in the world. Pretty cool stuff. The first time I listened to it it made me think of Neon Genesis Evangelion (don't know if anyone else even watches anime, but whatever) | |
