| The Velvet Underground – Sweet Jane Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think it more or less means what's stated in the link below: http://www.reasontorock.com/tracks/sweet_jane.html It's about the roles we play in this world, and that even the rebel rock and roller is still playing a role, no more or less authentic than Jane's or Jack's. |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Somewhere Over The Rainbow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Here's my take: The first verse is about the desperation of the culture at the time, whether it be residual nuclear anxiety, the civil rights movement, or anything, really. Just people trying to reach salvation, but not quite getting there. The second is again about strife- how we can't get along and how strange that would be to outsiders. The third verse is about corruption, selling out, etc. He's drinking in the saloon because he's depressed that the record companies will control him and try to 'wrap me in cellphane and sell me'. Think Kurt Cobain. Anyways, that's my two cents. |

| John Frusciante – Anne Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Fruscy's got it. And as for the rhythm and music of the song, It feels restrained, hiding from the drugs. Beautiful, but distant, fragile. Then his inner feelings/demons break out through the fragile surface during "it seems all the while" and "I always faked my smile". The solo though.. I know it was by Omar, but to me, it feels as though the dual guitars are two parts of his soul; now and the druggie breaking completely through, but when he says "winner and loser will be" they scream out in unison, symbolizing unity, and i could go on forever with this, but I think you understand what I mean. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Funky Crime Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| look, anna, that's fine and all that now you like their old stuff, but the reason i dislike the people who listen solely to new chili peppers stuff is because they're ignorant of so much better music, and the reason btw and cali were so popular was because they're so radio friendly. i don't like radio friendly pop-rock. i'm not saying they're bad, but i don't like their current music, and anyone who can't appreciate the old stuff doesn't deserve my respect in their musical tastes | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – American Ghost Dance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure that Hump De Bump was based off of the bass line in this. I think the working title was Ghost Dance 3000 | |
