The first time I listened to this song, I was at a friend's house and it was playing from his stereo...I wasn't paying all that much attention, but I started paying attention because I could have sworn I heard part of it say "Lemon, I found a lemon" and I knew something was a little off there. Thank goodness this song does have a meaning deeper than finding lemons. It's a really amazing song though. |

My friend sent me this song a while ago...it makes me cry every time I hear it now. For me, it's always been kind of an "I love you, but there's too many obstacles for this to work right now" kind of song, if that makes sense. "I wish we were lovers, but it's for the best" almost explicitly states that. "Who put these bodies between us?" has always taken on a more literal meaning for me, being actual people that were in the way of us being together - ex-girlfriends and such on his side, and some friends of mine who weren't too fond of him on mine, not to mention the fact that we go to two different schools in the same area who are big-time rivals. Ah, memories. |
