Arter... "Reverie" is most definitely a word...a word with very strong Latin and Christian roots-the Chrisitan connotations being the main point of importance. The entire concept of the last album was Jesse's struggle with his faith, and considering that this song was initially meant to be one of the more emotionally touching tracks on the album, one can assume that it's heavily laden with Christian concepts. Reverie describes a feeling of awe brought about by righteousness and holyness. In essence, that entire verse is talking about the wait for Christ's second coming: We'll take it easy, tigers in the cage, Pacing on our pads, and waiting, For the time to come in reverie. Our lazy bones ache for our dowry. Basically, it's saying that the "tigers in the cage" (people stuck in the sorrow of this realm of reality) need to just be patient and wait for the coming of Christ (the time to come in reverie) and then their souls will be wed to the one that they were promised to (Christ is obviously the one to whom the souls of Chrisitans belong, and while wed probabaly isn't the best word here, it is the proper context because of the reference to dowry). Oh, and luckykr3w... It's not "royalty" it's... The closest thing we had to loyalty. |
