Now, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. So, I will give "oh_my_lantern" props for rebutting my "time" attack, even though it is a weak defense. Since I, as said previously, believe in giving credit where credit is due. If we follow that philosophy then you must give Cradle props for there unique sound and creative lyrics. And I guess you have to give Slipknot props for...something (I don't really know what, I hate that band!)...anyways.. I didn't say that you "didn't know" the sub-genres of metal. I said you didn't understand them. If you understood any genre for that matter you would not be calling Cradle or Slipknot screamo crap. Again, I hate Slipknot, but you don't see me calling them things they aren't. I'm not making up the most gruesome things possible to make them look bad. I am stating the truth. Screamo is music like "AFI" and other bands like that. AFI and Cradle are polar opposites of each other. And considering the fact that I can get many metal heads that do not like Cradle to vouch for me that they are some form of metal must mean something. Plus "oh_my_lantern" I have two more questions for you: 1. What was the point in coming on posts about Cradle just to attack them? Knowing that there will be massive amounts of fans on here, nobody else that hates them will be on here reading this agreeing with you so what the point? (and "emo bashing" is an invalid reason considering Cradle isn't emo and you don't know any of the people on here that you are offending. How do you know whether I'm emo or not?) 2. Where did your screen name come from? Seriously, I laugh every time I read it. I think of some of fogie sitting in a rocking chair flailing his cane in the air saying "Stupid hippies! Country music is the greatest!", honestly, that's my immediate thought here...explain? Anyways, I'll be waiting for your reply which should consist of: 1. Your "sub-genre" rebut argument. 2. Answers to both my questions. 3. And from your posts, I'm going to assume something barbaric is going to be said by you. (Yes, you're that predictable) |

I agree with "Opethfanatic89" and i have a strong passionate hate for "oh_my_lantern"... Top 5 Reasons To Hate "oh_my_lantern"- 1. His name reminds me of the phrase "Oh my Lanta." which is used by several old fogies throughout the world (lmao) 2. He's bashing Cradle 3. He has no understanding of the different sub-genres of metal, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, and Iron Maiden are pretty basic metal bands to me. Slipknot is like thrash metal or speed metal and Cradle is just their own unique style. (btw, I don't like Slipknot, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, or Iron Maiden, but notice how I'm not bashing them, but rather bashing an ass wipe) 4. According to the times given on my computer, he leaves his comments in the early hours of the morning so he has more of a chance to respond to our arguments because he can't come up with this stuff on the top of hiss head because he doesn't feel as strongly as he thinks he does on the subject. 5. I can already tell what kind of person he is by just reading his comments. He's the stuck-up, thinks he's all that and a bag of shit, waste of skin that has no life so he bashes others. | Sorry, I forgot to add this part :-).... I don't think it's about Cradle's past. "I miss our glorious past" I have an interp that goes along with my meaning, but I'm not sure of it. I think they are saying that they loved it when the people who are different victimized instead of being victims. If I'm wrong, I know it isn't about Cradle's past because they usually aren't so straight forward with their meanings. And I also don't believe Dani's vox has worn out or the members are slacking off I believe thy are experimenting with ideas. They don't want all their songs to sound the same. And plus you can just tell by all of their interviews that they are very busy and work hard on their albums (I specifically remember reading an interview before Midian came out. The band turned down an entire tour in order to put their full effort in their album and that's what I like about Cradle is that they produce PERFECT results EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! And last, but not least, vampires. I can see how vampires could be incorporated here, but I think they are describing how two completely different groups live in the same world and one stalks the night while other thrives during the day. As in they are living in the same world yet two separate worlds at the same time, which I also get that feeling when they talk about sewers. When you think about it above and below ground are in the same world, but two totally different worlds at the same time. And I leave you with-- goodbye! | |

I don't know if this is the REAL meaning, but this is what I got from the song and given the diversity between meanings I'm slightly uneasy about sharing, but I quit caring 10 minutes ago. I believe it's about those of us that are different from the "in-crowd" and how the day we stand up will be a glorious day for all. I'll break some of it down: "When blood and lust and waking worlds collide Waking worlds collide" It's speaking of WHEN the two groups clash, both groups have lived together under unfair ruling and in the future they will clash for a more just cause (aka- the people who are different and the "normal" people go into all-out war (I'm not speaking of literal war of course)) "Too long have we skulked like drifters In the cities of the neon sun Vagabond dogs and graveyard shifters Mona Lisa's where the paint has run" It's saying, we've dealt with this crap way to long it's time to stand up as one unified army. I believe the 3rd and 4th lines are describing those of us who are different. "Churches arch their backs with balustrades Praise be to the shedding of masquerades When we hunt these vestal vermin unafraid" Interp- The group as a whole will do this on their own they will need no other group's assistance. We are unveiling the truth and showing these "normal" people exactly what they are. We'll be ruthless in the war. "Now the clock is harrying midnight And the ghost of yet-to-come Will she show rewrites of dark delight" Interp- We will rewrite the past with the future. I know I left several stanzas out, but I have a life too you know! I got the main parts and explained how I found my interpretation. If you like my interpretation, fine, if you don't like it, deal with it. |
