contrary to most fans, this was not the first emery song i heard, but it still doesn't stop it from being my favorite! to me, i think the "walls" are emotional walls that people build up around themsleves to prevent getting hurt, but it turns out that having the walls hurts more than not. by the way, this song is AMAZING live!! i loved it, as soon as toby said "this is our last song, and it's called "walls"", this ocean-like roar erupted from the crowd and the mosh pits looked like swirling masses of human hurricane. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! and, i was just wondering, is anyone else REALLY disapointed with "i'm Only a Man", because i know i am. |

| this is one of my favorite songs by hawk nelson- it's one of the only ones on the cd that has real deep poetic meaning. so simple, yet so complicated. I also agree that the second verse is about the end of the world, in fact is it possible that this song is where the album got it's name?? | |

| I concur with Schrei, this song has Spot written all over it. In fact, the only reason i knew this song EXISTED is because of a video about Spot on YouTube by abbyluna. I think it's an encouragement NOT to commit suicide. Look at the lines they say: "Kill yourself slowly over time, Fashion statement suicide" then it says "Bad turns to worse and the worse turns into Hell" ( I think they literally mean Hell because it's capatalized in the lyrics) It also says "dont fall asleep" and "stay with me tonight" and "is this another dead by misadventure." and also "God save the eyes that dim tonight" that leads me to believe the suicide. but, yet again the line that says "needles and lovers collapse on guilty beds" could mean something like a drug overdose. It's kind of literal, but it could work. besides, sometimes the literal meanings are the actual meanings, if you get what im saying. sometimes. another thought i had is that the songs about how some people slip into sin (needles= drugs; lovers= sex before marrige) and that he's asking God to speak to these peoples' hearts before it's to late (God save the eyes that dim tonight; bad turns to worse and worse turns into Hell) another thing: COULD, by some freak possibilty, the line "Lextington course your veins" mean cutting yourself?????it's a far stretch but................what about the battle of Lexington and Concord???? Maybe????????? |
