"Don't you know I never needed more Than all of your love" it sounds almost like a robbing the cradle kind of thing. No. Maybe not. Maybe he wants the kids to appreciate his music. heheh. Well, he's saying something. Maybe it's don't make the same mistakes i've done, be good, go to school, do things right.

I think he's drowning in some auto accdent, maybe trapped in his seatbelt or somehow unable to move. Or he's not struggling to swim to the surface because the one and only he needs is unreachable. He lost his will to live. It seems to me that he doesn't need to suffer with the lonliness and he needs her so bad he just lets go. It sounds like he's fighting for life, but also kind of giving up too, mixed emotions, very ovewhelmed by the whole suffocating thing, but he's starting to realize as he slips away that he can't have his love so what's the point in living.

It sounds like the average love, first there's the wild love and passion, then it slows down and dies out, and the happy endings and growing old together and being in love forever is almost impossible, and he's frustrated and wants love to last more in this world but, it doesn't.

I agree with GreenSleeves, it's about life, living a life that everyone else lives, with the blinders on, just seeing and doing and thinking this, and not really ever being outside it. The lights are low, as in, it's dim and hard to see in the little box you live in with everyone else, and, are you really happy in there? Maybe you like living in the box because you don't understand how much more brilliant it is out here, how much more room to think.

It's so oddly "bright" compared to most of his other songs, it's so cartoony, almost. Especially the today, today, today, with the little voice behind him. It's almost silly, makes me grin. No clue, maybe it's a tongue in cheek cmmet on how adults act childish. no clue, none at all.

I think he's saying not to take life's trouble seriously, maybe drinking is used here too, just to melt away the real world and all of the conflicts. He just wants to relax, and he might be saying not to try to change everybody, because that's just who we are and nothing's going to change. Love the song, the video is even deeper, with all these numbers, it's amazing.

David Usher seems fascinateith city streetlights and such, you can see a lot of his mind just by looking at the lyrics, it's amazing! I sense they're above the lights as in an upper light in a hotel room or apartment, and the streets look far below. They're looking out the window at the sight, or maybe he's looking out as he's being with her.

She was "choked and indicted by the truth" So i assume she found out something about his pas that wasn't very favorable, almost like A Day in the Life. I wonder if David really has some secrets.. love his voice anyway, his lyrcs , I can undertand what he means every time, somehow. That's why they're breaking up, because they fell in love quickly and strongly but he didn't realize how delicate and butterfly like she and their reelationship was.

He's in love with someone. But, someone or something has just revealed something bad he did in the past. It seems that she doesn't think they really know eachother deep down but he says he doesn't know himself and how he could have done such thing, so how can he know her if he doesn't know himself? So, he wants another try to be with her and he wants to be with her anyway.
