i don't have time to sift through all these comments to see if anyone has made this same point,but I think this will clear things up first read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auf_Achse_%28TV_series%29 then this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auf_Achse_%28song%29 however i think the entry on the song is incorrect I believe that Kapranos is making a parallel between Christ and Franz (or the lonely truck driver) the song is about Franz and Sylvia and how she left him, when they were never really together but out of loneliness made a relationship in his mind thus he did not end up with her so kapranos's reference to Christ is Franz making a martyr of himself for his lost love that never existed |

I can see where you get Buddhism for sure but being born again is also part of Christianity which might explain the part "Well I wanna know how why where and when and then I wanna see you be the bright night sky I wanna see you come back as the light" being the return of Christ but i am not really sure, but I am not aware of any element explaining that, plus most Buddhists don't believe you can be reincarnated as animals |
