the song is amazing. the sound is perfect - its as if they've been making music together for decades. i like the lyrics a lot. they're simple yet beautiful. i can't imagine she's talking about anything but heaven. I'm a christian, and i hope I'm not imposing my own experiences on the music, but I've felt like i wish heaven was a reality to me right now and i could just go on up and start the rest of eternity, but gods telling me theres stuff to do here. its sweet to see the progression of her mindset, from expecting death early on, to being unsure of what do to in this waiting period before a hopeful afterlife, to accepting her instruction to wait. she knows theres stuff for her to do here. i can't be the only one who sees this meaning... |

beko - i never thought of the Jesus thing untill you said it. that does make alot of sense, except for that i think she's jewish... but the (or something) kinda covers that... this feels like a beautifully contemplated piece of art, rather than just any song that you might hear about. maybe its the 'eclectic' music critic in me but i think its abolutely perfect the way it was recorded, and to be honest, i just had it on repeat like 14 times and it's still not old |

idk. you made a very good point Chantale about her fathers hand in her 'craving affection' but i think the lyrics are supposed to be taken a bit more literally. the line "so i use protection" i think was pretty self explanatory, i dont know any other connotations used for such a saying... and the fact that she is not wearing revealing clothes is because of the line "but she feels so clean"... but idk anyway, clearly a beautifully simplistic song - a new favorite. reminds me of a band called Tapes 'n Tapes? eh? anyone? |

SWEET JESUS karen you just made my LIFE!!!! i dont even know if youre serious or not, but that sounds good to me! CAPOEIRA! o my would you ever need to use that on a concertgoer? do they get so rowdy that you may need to subdue them with your expansive knowledge of knot tying? i read the wikipedia about georgie frut, and it gave me a negative impression of him (his apperance related to anti-depressants...) but NO MAN this was a GREAT album, every piece of it! every of montreal album just feels so thought thru! a masterpiece. |

dont call sufjan random. what i love about all his music, especially this album, is its personality. he obviously didnt just set out to be random. it has to do with him, and we happen to listen. why do you listen if its random? I felt a lot more shallow about this song, but thats kinda what I got out of it. Looks just like the sun to me sounds kinda oxymoronic, oxymoronish? anyway the oxymoronistic part is that its a sun, and they always say dont look at it. Its generally accepted to not stare at the sun. the middle to me sounds like some dude at a party (yes, i said shallow) looking around, kinda nevous (reaches for his gun) especially the "turning back thought I knew someone" part. It happens. I've done it. and you can't watch. You know your being watched, but nobody can watch, and neither can you, but you look around like you are, but you're too cool to. But you cant even watch this dude either - it's not cool. It talks about how used to society and its rules we are. What i just said, that situation, is possibly the dumbest thing ever. Watching people not wathing people? sounds like a party to me! and that's just what theyre saying - Look at some of the rules you follow, and question their importance. I read all of those up there, did you? I really want to know what someone thinks of mine LOVE BSS |
