| So beautiful...just an amazing metaphor and just so very true. | |
| The Killers – A White Demon Love Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I pretty sure the real meaning to this song has to be about cocaine. Once you put it in that perspective, it makes perfect sense. White demon love song down the hall White demon shadow on the road Back up your mind, there is a call (The high one gets from cocaine really doesn't last that long, so the woman of the song is just longing for more and more) He isn't coming after all (She is sure the hight isn't going to last) Love this time She likes the way he sings White demon love song's in her dreams (She reaches that high she has been looking for, and for the time being she is happy) White demon, where's your selfish kiss? White demon sorrow will arrange Let's not forget about the fear (Now she at a low, and has run out of cocaine) Black invitation to this place that cannot change While strangely holy, come for a rain (Her cocaine days have begun to take a toll on her. The high is euphoric or 'holy,' however, what it took to get there was not. She realizes this and wants a change or some 'rain.') (Darling) White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go? White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go? (She longs for more and more cocaine, because like the real high you get from cocaine, she needs more and more to stay high) Let us be in love (Let us be in love) Let's do old and grey (Let's do old and grey) I won't make you cry (I won't make you cry) I will never stray (I will never stray) I will do my part (I will do my part) Let us be in love tonight (The only thing that she can be faithful to is cocaine. All other objects and people are thrown away, so that she may stay with her white demon; so that she may stay high. That sensation is all that matters to her, and Brandon Flowers is just romanticizing the love she has for cocaine and making it seem like something from an old black and white romance.) White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go? White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go? (Stand it anymore, darling) (Stand it) (I can't stand it anymore, darling) (Stand it) From my experience with a particular person that was addicted to cocaine, this is what I got out of the song. The lyrics are just irrefutably beautiful and real. |

| Say Anything – Death For My Birthday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song has to be my favorite with Ahhhhh...Men close behind. Only problem I have with the new album is that it has to end.... To me it's about Salvation through Suffering. After 'He' has suffered and finally gotten his birthday wish, 'He' sees life's true beauty. Really gets me thinking about Jude Fawley from Jude the Obscure. |

| Say Anything – Do Better Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's pretty oblivious what this song is about; It's someone who can 'do better' than what they are doing. This song is one of those catchy songs with a heavy underlying meaning, and Say Anything executes it perfectly. | |
| The Spill Canvas – Gold Dust Woman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It should be "you better put your kingdom up for sale." Stevie Nicks says she, herself really dosent even know what the song is about all she remembers is cocaine and its gold dust. lol so I guess that is what its about. | |
| The Spill Canvas – Lay It On Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I fully agree with the above comment. The song really is just to the point with the lyrics, there arent really any hidden meanings.(that I can see) | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – What Sarah Said Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Wow this song is real emotional to me, because my sister's name is Sara. It just gets me thinking about that call that I am going to get one day from her saying that either my brother or father got hurt really bad or are dying. It makes me sad but its one of my favorites songs and death cab for cutie's best song. | |
