I think that the person narrating was on a road trip with his Girl Friend/friend (why else would they be up at 5am and Jesus music is the only type of music on the radio at 5am). and the other person takes a picture of him in the yellow bucket seats of the car. The two people fall apart and separate and the only real memory of them together is the picture. The other person wants to rebuild their relationship but looking back on that picture, the narrator realizes that he is a much different person now then he was before and as a result he doesn't think that they can get back together because the other person has not changed themselves. |

I am almost positive this song is about abortion... Yes... I realize I was the last comment on this song but, I just thought of something else (that always seems to happen right after I post one) This probably doesn't make any sence to anyone else but oh well... I think that her husband is abusive (like I last posted) and I think that he is on drugs... The wife used to be a crackhead like the husband but ever since she had her daughter she is trying to stay clean...Her husband on the other hand is trying to break her and make her relaps "But what do you say we go for a ride? What do you say we get high? But I'm so tired of days that feel like the night" This is what he says to her to try and make her go back to her old ways. But she can't take the abuse and the punishment any more so... she shoots him. Oh yeah and the part where it says "There's no tears, cause he's not here" means that he's high. Well, thats my newest interpratation of this song. I don't know if it makes sence to any else but this is just the story I think about when I hear this. |

I always think of a women who is abused by her husband even though it says... "No one's so sure if her crime had a reason"... I still think so whether it was neglect or physical abuse (maybe he was cheating on her), I the part about being a butterfly is about her earning her freedom and flying away... "It's me and the moon," she says I got no trouble with that But i am a butterfly, you wouldn't let me die "It's me and the moon," she says I think that this part is that she always found comfort in the moon when her husband was neglecting her. I just think that this is a great song with a really cool but creepy meaning. (How some people would do anything to feel free) |

It's saying that you should know about your drinking problem and thats why this person is alone... I think they were driving and they hit someone when they were drunk.... I think the first verse is about him finding out that his girlfriend is cheating on him... "i think i'll go home and mull this over before i cram it down my throat at long last it's crashed, the colossal mass has broken up into bits in my moat." I think that, that part is saying that he needs to go home and think about what he just found out. The rest of the song seems to me as if he is trying to go on without her and is hiding that he really misses her from everyone. "i never got cold wearing nothing in the snow." I think that is saying that he has locked away his feelings and has become so used to not showing emotion that he loses them. |

I think that this song is sung by someone on their deathbed singing to the person they love, In the song when he mentions his nightmares, he means that he has been dreaming of dying and having to leave her behind.
