| yeah,so i totally heard about an interview with adam and him saying this is about his belief in God.though like most songs i believe it contains a parallel meaning also.like i believe tbs writes music to vent their soul and to help others do the same by relating.though anyways,i think that this song is just about how no matter how hectic things get in life and how bad he screws up because of his flaws,he can always count on God to get him through and just unconditionally love him.and how like i just said whenever he's come to a point in his life where there's nothing he can do but surrender,he realizes that God has always been there waiting for him. | |

brada is totally right. it has to be about self-knowledge and how the world views people as a whole and then individually.in my own words i think he is saying how we try to become what the world wants and how we try to make ourselves visibly look "normal" yet when it comes to the true judgement everything that's inside of us is what determines or fate and how even though we know it's wrong it continues to happen until it almost becomes right and the only way.and i believe the last part is just saying that even though we think there is good in everybody that won't mean a thing when we are at the true judgement and are goodness will be proven or rejected. saosin rocks. anthony was great. cove is great. it's a win-win for me. j4y7 has the right lyrics or at least for the demo. |

GOD! what is with you people. why can't you accept Cove? yes.his voice isn't as high-pitched as Anthony's. but he's the new lead singer. just deal with it. Anthony isn't coming back anytime soon. and i mean if you're just coming hear to bash Cove's entire lyrical mind and his vocals,then why come at all? sure.it's your opinions and opinions should be heard. but i mean it's getting annoying in every othre comment saying how Cove isn't good enough. he's just cove and that's all he can be. so if you can't accept it,stop listening to Saosin because nothing will change. |

im gonna make this short. i think this song is about him trying to escape the pain of something he's going through-could be lonliness,or who knows-and it just hurts so bad that he wants to hurt himself and then again he wants to make it quick by washing away the pain as in alcohol but it hurts that he's going through all this and it's as if nobody really sees it or cares because it's just so out of his element.but then again he can't really get too mad because the way that he's been living his life-which could be in just plain out secret or on the road-the way he has and that's just the results of it. taking back sunday is my favorite band. no matter what people say about adam lazzara,he's the best and to all the people who call him emo you have no idea because anybody who's ever bought a cd with their dvd's can see that he's the LAST thing from that. he just knows how to put hardcore emotions into songs,releasing his problems. |

here's my analyzation.in the first verse i believe that he's been betrayed by somebody he loves and he's trying to find his way home(paradise/Avalon)and he's trying to do the right things because he's finally realized that what he does is wrong(orion glows/his eyes open up)yet,somebody he loves is holding him back because they do the exact same thing(drugs/alcohol of some kind?) and he wants to change them because he's changed but he doesn't have the strength. in the chorus,i think he's just saying how his loved one keeps begging him to do the bad thing with him and how he doesn't want to hurt them so he would just rather drift away/and or just leave them,maybe?(melt away in the summer air)and how even though it would hurt to leave them it wouldn't hurt as much as re-living his past life. in the second verse(and this might get really lame)but i think he's stating that the alcohol or the substance is just coarsing through that person's veins and body taking over them to the extent where they can't take care of themselves at all and they call for anthony but he can't do anything and now he's angry that he didn't stop them sooner before it was too late. in the ending,i believe anthony is being ironic and sort of contradictive and saying how now that this person he cared about so much he thinks it's his fault and now that the person is just completely gone he has nothing to worry about anymore and he can be happy again. i could be wrong. i probably am. though this is how i see it. |

okay. well,this is how it is in my opinion. i totally think that this song is about people just bitching about Cove's voice and how he's not as good as Anthony Green and how he's not as godly as Anthony Green. and i think that it might really be affecting his self-perception of himself and that it's just going to his head.and no matter how hard he tries it's not good enough and no matter what good things are said about him,the bad things are just repeated in his head. hence, the "the things you've said i'm rehearsing them." and maybe to try and make himself as good as anthony in other's view he's done things that he's regretted keeping him awake countless nights,and stirring in his mind, but did them to make others happy and he did them just to hear from old fans that they are happy. "I'll sleep tonight when you're okay, And I will then say it's okay." k,that's just my opinion. and i could and probably am like 100% wrong. |
