basically what i got from this was to keep our dreams and use them to overcome our pains and our falls. to preserve that dream even when things cannot get any worse. Fuel your thoughts, and preserve your dreams. Use what you "didnt know you had in you, didn't know you had in you at all" to overcome your troubles. i really think its about dealing with and getting over a broken heart. But i like to think on more general terms than that of "oh my heart is broken, i feel so bad for myself so i'm going to write this poem" type of interpretations |

I think this song has a few different interpreted meanings depending on the person. But I think this song is about anything and everything that a person loves. Heroin? Cocaine? Pot? A lover? "You became the light on the dark side of me." - "My Power, My Pleasure, My Pain, baby." "A Kiss From a Rose on the grey" "Your like a growing addiction I can't deny" "My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen." This final line sums it up though: "I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey." I think that he is comparing a woman to a drug such as heroin or cocaine. He knows he should not and perhaps will not work, but he cannot help himself because she is a growing addiction that he cannot say no to. She is the source of his power, the source of is pleasure, the source of his pain. All in all, I think he is trying to say that love is a drug itself, regardless of what the love is for (be it a woman or a substance), that it is all the same. |
