Its weird because one of the verses sounds like they are in a relationship but other verses sounds like they want to start a relationship??
My interputation is that this guy likes this girl and wants her always but she maybe goes through men?? In the video its this hot chick who has several guys coming and going!!
From the line "lets start this again for real" maybe is suggesting they were playing games,testing each other.
I love this song, the guy I am in love with would play this song all the time..I felt he was saying he wants to be with me all the time just holding me :) |

At first I thought this song was about someone that got out of a relationship and would always be waiting for this person.
But then after listening to it over and over a new meaning formed, right here waiting is someone scared to commit so they are just right there waiting. In one of the verse it said" I hope youre not intending to be so condescending its as much as I can take." To me that means he has been through alot and since he hasnt been with this person before he doesnt know what to expect.
The reason this song has such an impact on me is because I met this guy who was married,had a child and the wife left him for another man. He use to play this song over and over so naturally I thought this was about her. That he would always wait for her. But as time went by it seemed maybe it was about our crazy relationship. we would always hang out everyday,have sex but he said we were only friends.
He wouldnt open up much except that he tried to commit suicide after his break up and got pretty lost into drugs/alcohol. So I knew he was an emotional wreck. He seemed to communicate to me through songs,every song had a meaning. This way I felt he could say how he was feeling without being held accountable(if that makes sense?)
Anyways sorry so long but one night he asked what if he got with someone what would I do? I replied Well that wouldnt happen,and he said with a smile How come?
I said "You told me you would never ask anyone" He said true but what if...I then said well I guess we just wouldnt hang out as much...He said well if I got with someone else your heart wouldnt be able to take it. I said no I would be fine
Well I left to go home and he called me and said you need to move on I said why are you moving? He laughed and replied No I will always be "RIGHT HERE WATING"
So like I said before he really wouldnt express his feeling only through songs because it was safe. So when he said my heart wouldnt be able to take it he was really talking about him. I really feel this guy is my soulmate! So when aaron lewis sings I always find a way to keep you right here waiting,it is saying in my opinion, I will only say enough to keep you wanting more to keep you in the safe zone. |

Ok question to CircleDown, I needed fullfillment I found what I need In you..Why cant you just forgive me I dont want to relive all the mistakes Ive made along the way...If he is referring to his wife that treats him like shit Why would she need to forgive him?
I agree fullfillment is not a good thing like suggesting he was not whole but this new person would complete him...He is probably messed up in the head so any relationship he has eventually will end cuz he needs help! So he needs to work on himself othertwise he will just repeat the same mistakes all over again! |

Well I think it means about a relationship that ended. See Im in love with this guy who really is not good at opening up. He use to be with a girl who pretended to be in love with him and just broke him when she left. He tried to commit suicide. So when we would listen to this song he would emphasize on the part of the song that says these wounds wont seem to heal, this pain is just to real! To me it means he is still hurting and it feels as if it just happenned,even though it has been years! So even if he loved me back he couldnt risk it again. We use to hang out everyday and he said what if he got with someone else? (we werent boyfriend/girlfriend) So I replied I would be fine, we just wouldnt hang out as much and he then said If he got with someone else my heart wouldnt be able to take it. So like I said before he wasnt good at showing his feelings. So since his ex left him for another guy and moved in with him, I feel if I were to do the same his heart wouldnt be ble to take it. A very beautiful yet sad song. |

The line "Ive got soul but Im not a soldier" is referring to a man who has soul like is a deep person, who cares alot and is very sensitive but is not a soldier,not willing to put his love on the line. I think this man has had a rough life. Probably has been hurt in the past. He has alot of love to give but is not willing to make the sacrifice again. "Put me on the back burner" is saying he loves this woman but he just cant give her his heart at this moment so dont forget about me but dont pursue me right now,you have to wait because he is not ready. |

I think its about a guy who has been hurt in the past by a girl who cheatd on him. He meets a girl who he fell hard for "it started out with a kiss how did it end up like this" I think he is a real jealous person and maybe accused his ex of cheating and got mad over everything ,and perhaps led her into cheating.After the break up he went downhill into drugs perhaps suicidal. Now as time past he is finally coming out of his cage and he has to be down because he wants it all. I think it means he finally is starting to get better and he doesnt want to have the same outcome as before so he needs to work on his jealousy,his own personal demons. Mr. Brightside is refering to he is a good person but his fear of someone leaving him for another consumes him. Which in the end his jealousy ruins the relationship. Its all in my head is saying that even though she might not be cheating he always feels as if she is and it destroys everything. |
