| The Pretty Reckless – Panic Lyrics

While I appreciate that someone added the lyrics of this song to the board, I have a few lyric corrections from www.elyrics.net and also from what I heard in the song.
You are driving me into manic
You can’t break me out of my habits
I never will be you, I hate that you’re breathing
So leave me alone, I’m an addict
You never will see it my way
I’m draining the light from your day
You’re pushing, you’re pushing, I’m pulling you down
The chorus is correct but then I also have lyric corrections for the second verse.
You are driving me into panic
I know that you can’t understand it
I’m constantly sinking, I’m no longer thinking
So leave me alone when I’m frantic
You never will feel it my way
I’m draining the light from your day
You’re pushing, you’re pushing, I’m pulling you down
That's it. Now the song makes more sense. It's one of my favorites from them too. Why hasn't it received any comments until now?

| St. Vincent – Marry Me Lyrics

This song, while the title sounds happy, I think there's a sad element to it. The line "You won't realize I'm gone" says something about the narrator. She'll marry the guy but she'll lose a lot of herself in the process of that. When she says the lines, "Many people wanna make money, make love..." she is explaining how in a way she's marrying the guy to fit in with her peers because those are typical things to do in life. People aren't always getting married out of love, some of the time they're doing it because it's just the next step in the process of growing up, also because marriage is portayed as something happy and can solve your problems. Truthfully that isn't always the case. The narrator is trying to be accepted by society's standards so she is marrying John whether or not she loves him or really is ready to go in that direction. |

I have to agree with heytheredelilah on the meaning. It may have to do with L.A. but to me, I feel like it's about two people in a relationship but bring out each other's worst qualities meaning that they each experiment with various problems and issues because of the other person. |

I can relate to this song completely. It's about a girl who doesn't fit in or basically hides who she really is because she doesn't want people to judge her. She's made fun of and feels like hiding in a paper bag is a way to hide from it. She says that one day she'll be beautiful and people will look past appearances and accept her for her differences rather than tease her. |

I think this song is about feeling so low about love and life that you just want to give up so you won't get hurt again. She tries to avoid having any emotional connection to anyone by "driving away" and "comfort of my bed" meaning that by convincing herself to be alone she doesn't have to deal with the feelings she may have for someone. |

This is probably my fave song off the album.
And you want Him, and you need Him
But you act like He’s not there
Yeah, you know that you’re hollow
And something’s missing here
So you push and you pull the hole in your soul
But you can’t make the hunger disappear
To me it means that someone is in love with someone and they want to deny it because of fears of rejection or commitment but they have a "hunger" (desire) for them no matter how many times they try to deny it. |

| Flyleaf – I'm So Sick Lyrics

|
I consider this song to be about a rape. The lines, "You sink into my clothes
This invasion makes me feel Worthless, hopeless, sick" describe how someone is invading her personal space and she cannot control what happens so she feels worthless, hopeless, sick for that reason. Some other lines, "Hear it, I'm screaming it You're heeding to it now Hear it, I'm screaming it You tremble at this sound" describe how she's struggling to break free from his grasp and screaming seems to be the most powerful thing for her because though she can't escape she can let out her emotions which are more powerful than words and actions any day. |

| The Meg And Dia Band – Roses Lyrics

|
I think this song is about girls who want this perfect fairytale love and are naive about some guys real intentions such as wanting to have sex or giving them drugs. Roses are a typical thing that girls love to receive from a boyfriend and that just symbolizes the kind of romance girls believe in but once you see words after roses such as sold and cold it shows that these roses are anything but fickle and most love in real life is nothing that sweet and if you search for that, you may up with disappointing results. |

| Katy Rose – Enchanted Lyrics

I think this song is about a guy she can't get over. He leaves her a while ago and then he comes back and the yearning she has had still is there. The lines in the chorus describe the entire relationship. No matter what has happened between them he would always be "implanted in her" and she would always be "enchanted" by him. |

| Katy Rose – Because I Can Lyrics

|
I can totally connect with this song because it's about a girl who feels out of place in reality and finds it boring and/or sad so she escapes to a fantasy world where she feels like she belongs and is happy and carefree. She tries to stay there but it only lasts for a bit and then she goes back to reality and feels empty. Throughout the song, she feels depressed because she's not satisfied with her life and she wants to go back to her fantasy world. So the last line, is a question she asks herself wondering if she'll be ok and if she'll ever be able to fit in in reality and not be so focused on trying to get away. |

| Katy Rose – Glow Lyrics

|
I agree with Hotel-Paper's analysis. From the first verse, I get this idea that it's about a pedophile who basically uses her and manipulates her to do inappropriate things ("You can close your eyes and tell me that you are a visionary") He tries to make it sound okay but in the end, it's still wrong ("But no matter how you frame it, it's still pornography"). The second verse sounds like she is being raped or molested and she tries to say no but he won't listen to her and keeps going. ("Nobody seems to hear till I scream and shout...") The line blowing my candle out sounds like losing your virginity and losing her innocence. The chorus sounds like she is finding comfort in herself the "glow" is her inner strength that she finds when she is struggling. The next verse talks about the aftermath of her being molested. She knows that she is not the same girl as she was before and now is trying to heal herself though he still treats her badly. He basically tries to give her a hard time ("There's so many things you rant about") and (Blowing her candle out") in this phrase sounds like he's bringing down her self'esteem and self confidence. The chorus is basically her trying to convince herself she still is special and to not let the guy make her feel worthless. This is a very deep song and can be used in so many instances. |

I think the lyrics you posted are correct, Alpha 13. I really like this song, I can totally relate to it. I think it's about her always trying to please people by being something she isn't. She's hopeless because she seems to never learn from her mistakes and she tends to keep making them over and over. I think also she says she's a bit of a follower because she likes people to take care of her, "follower of anything to take me away from this hole in the ground" and "Clinging to a feeling like a fish on a line", symbolize this feeling of dependence on someone or something so she won't actually have to stand on her own. |

My friend's interpretation of the song was that it was about abortion. It might explain why Katie was carrying around a jar with human organs inside. Katie's character is neglected throughout the video and she might've been the child that wasn't meant to be born so the mother is taking out on her by not treating her well. The line "I'm about to change your pretty life" sounds like an abortion is about to occur. Idk, I'm just trying to understand my friend's reasoning. |

I do think this song has much to do with sex like what Dynah said. I think that she knows that this guy only wants sex with her and he doesn't actually care about her otherwises and though she knows that, she keeps coming back for more. She wants to believe that she can change his mind by having sex with him but on some level knows that she needs to stop doing what's she is doing. |

This song is about an abusive relationship and even though she knows he's bad news, she just can't stay away from him no matter what he does to her. In the chorus, she acknowledges that she needs to walk away from him and move on.
This song kinda relates to me (well not the abusive relationship) because there's a guy that I like and he just uses me for my looks so I need to learn to keep my distance from him and not let him manipulate my emotions. This is one of my fave songs from her. |

The beginning of the song seems like it's about a girl who is really attracted to someone and wants to hook up with them. I think it's her first time being this close to the person and it excites her and makes her wanting more. I say someone because it's not clearly defined if it's a boy or a girl she's with because they sing "I wanna kiss a girl" and "I wanna kiss a boy" so it could be either sex. The song could also be sort of an experimentation because she wants to know what it feels like to kiss either sex. She's curious and wants to see all of her options. |

This song could be identified in many ways. The 1st way, I thought was about a girl who's boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend or sister and she now wants him out of her life. The 2nd way, I thought was about a girl's boyfriend treating her really badly and others the same way and finally she decides it best that he leaves her. Basically, in the end, it's about a break up of some kind but the story could be varied in many ways. |

I can totally connect to this song because this happened to me just recently. It's about a guy who tries to make the girl perfect and only focuses on what he wants to see rather than who she really is. He doesn't accept who she truly is and just wants her to be the way he wants her to be. She realizes that she's happy with who she is at the end of the song but by that time, it's too late and he has morphed her into something she's not. The best lines that automatically draw me into the song are
You never take
Take the time to really look
Look at the one
The one I really am
You try to fit
To fit me in a perfect box
You let me slip between the cracks
[CHORUS:]
Which basically mean that he doesn't appreciate who she is and is only focused on trying to make her perfect. He seems to not accept flaws and only settles for perfection. |

I get this idea from the lines "She's picking up her clothes and she's off and she's running and she says 'go on and lose it.'" Basically she tries to get him to have sex with her but he stops himself. She gets frustrated with him and storms out. When they go "go and lose it all" sounds like going all the way. Truthfully, I'm an atheist (no offense to anyone who is religious) so the ideas of god being in this song didn't come to mind. I agree with forgottenangelx about the meaning of this song. When I hear the lines "I'll show you what he did but I won't take the credit..." it sounds like she had been abused or raped by a guy that she thought she could trust but he betrayed her. When she talks about "holding the pen that day" I think that she says that she feels guilty about writing this song about her abuser and she feels like the abuse or rape was all her fault. |

| Avril Lavigne – Naked Lyrics

|
When I first listened to this song, I completely connected to it. The first set of lyrics "I wake up in the morning, put on my face..." is the truth about me. I usually wear a lot of makeup to hide imperfections and to feel whole (I do feel naked without makeup) but there are people who I can't hide from and the walls completely come down (like my friends for example and some family members). I think she says there is this one person who she can be herself around and not be afraid of judgment or ridicule.
As for the people who keep dissing Avril, you have a right to your own opinion but why would you be in this forum if you don't like her?? Seriously, keep the nasty catty comments off of this board so the people who actually do like her and her music can discuss the song and the meaning without excess comments that are unneeded here. |
