I like the holocaust interpretation, hadn't considered that before. Before that I always thought it was about a girl and guy who are infatuated by eachother, and they've realised that they wouldn't be missed by society if they were gone. They make a suicide attempt with carbon monoxide in their bed, joking about how cool they will be and how their worries will all be gone and people will assume they are just being lazy, but I don't think they actually wish to die, only test who would notice their disappearance from life. They really want to know that their family would at least miss them (daddy), but it's not the case and they slip away unnoticed... |

He loves her and always will, but probably because he's shy and sees her as such an unachievable goal he could never tell her how he feels from fear of rejection. He just keeps on waiting, hoping that one day the moment will come when he finds it's right to show himself, but it never comes. He should just tell her! He's Matt Bellamy! Who would reject him?! | What is really annoying about this is that it is also on a Non-smoking ad, sung by some girl and it has NOTHING on Muse's version! Now everytime I hear this song I think of the ad and it drives me up the wall because Muse make it sound so good! STUPID TELEVISION. | |

| To me this song (which by the way is amazing) is about a guy who has liked this girl because it was almost what was expected of him (everyone, including him, thought they were a good couple etc), and there was another girl, a friend maybe, who he's beginning to realise is the actual one he loves. It's not what he intended and he didn't see it coming, but now he's admitting the truth to himself and her, but before he moves on he has to make sure everything is gone with the previous girl. Sounds way more complicated than it meant to but that just sounds right to me haha! | |

At first I thought it might have been 'don't give me abnoxious' but then listening again I think not. I agree though that it's about a house party, and the way that now that they're famous everyone gives them dirty looks and treats them differently. Or perhaps just the other jealous males do because with their fame they are the ones doing all the wriggling around with the girls... that's what I thought about this line: "Wriggling around in incidents you wont forget [sex with all the girls] And there's certainly some venom in the looks that you collect [jealous guys]" Hmmm. |

| I doubt I'm close but this song reminds me heaps of the movie, What'S Eating Gilbert Grape. This is just because of the image of a massive women on her front porch, and the scene when it's too late to save her. Then there is the whole mention of the back of a truck which was a bit recurring in the movie. It just brings it to mind. Either way it's an amaaaazing song! | |
