Amanda's "official release" of this song on her album "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" is absolutely amazing. I adore it. For ME, it's about attempting to connect with someone you care about so deeply who is 'distant' and unwilling to connect the same way/as deeply or struggles connecting. It freaks me out especially that X.notXsoXperfect.X would bring up Doctor Who, considering the person in my life I connect to this song adores the show... even weirder because we're American and have to go out of our way to see it. |

I agree - this was done wonderfully in Across the Universe. Not only that, it flowed so well in the movie. One little thing I noticed is Jim Sturgess also sings eariler in "With a Little Help From My Friends": Group: Would you believe in love at first sight? Sturgess: (sarcastic) Yes, Iām certain that it happens all the time Little details, great writing. :] |

I believe that there's a possibility the intention behind this song was to reflect a double meaning: 1. Freedom, calm, reflection, etc. and 2. Drug use Who's to say there's only one true way Lennon meant it? He was freakin' genius - I don't see why not. ;) |
