| Love this beautiful tune, plus many others by this cool Michigan band. | |
| U2 – White As Snow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I replied to Marquez about this earlier. There is no doubt that the song is founded around the chord structures and melody of "O Come O Come Emmanuel." | |

It's definitely "lamb." The song is U2's poetic twist/take on "O Come O Come Emmanuel." |

Brilliant observations on this thread. This song continues to blow my mind. I am with the "helping an addict in the family who is driving his parents crazy" party. |

| Thank you for the great info on this tune, which has grown on me over the years. It was one of the most fun songs live (but really, what Arcade Fire song isn't great live?). I just love the groovin bass and drums here, and I love Regine's voice just floating over the top. I also love how the band appears to be just out of tune at just the right places. It really gives a song like this a distinct sound. | |

Can you imagine being Win's parents and reading this line: "Texas, I won't come home Not even if you call I can't hear you at all I can't explain why it's a sin the state I'm living in i just feel so tired I go outside" This song is heartbroken. I love the blatant honesty. He loves and trusts his parents, but he's got to be on his own now, and come to his own conclusions about life. |

"Jesus Christ don't keep it hid." There is no comma at their website. Win struggles with his Mormon upbringing constantly in his lyrics. Why is it so hard for people to see this? |

One more thing -- a final lyric is missing -- The ending should read: "Women and children, let's go! Old folks, let's go! Little babies, let's go!... Don't know where we're going." I like this, and once again think Win is at the very least referring to the afterlife, kinda like at the end of "Wake Up" when he sings about the reaper, says he knows where he's going and warns the Devil: "You'd better look out below!" Win heavily considers the afterlife in much of his music. |

I agree with all the heaven interpretations. I also agree that this song is "F-ing epic." It's actually so huge and awesome that it makes me cry. That ending choir-like swell is other-worldly. In a sense, the fact that there are no words there makes it more heavenly than anyone could ever describe. Here is an awesome version of it live that really showcases the horns, the beautiful string players and the most climactic, controlled-chaos of an ending anyone can pull off live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc4IdoE9lYw Thank you Arcade Fire for bringing PASSION back to music. |

| Clinic – Walking with Thee Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is like the Monster Mash meets some new electronic DEVO. The tune is years old now but I can't get it outta my head. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT -- Clinic, when are you coming back to America? | |
| The Choir – Clouds Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I love the drum pattern in this song. I can't think of any other song like it. I also love that when they hit the bridge, the drums disappear completely. It feels like clouds. It swirls around you, and then it's right back into that cool mesmerizing beat. I also love how the band recognize both a Creator, and our inability to come to terms with him/her/it. We need to get some of the band's newer stuff in here. "Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen" has similar themes, but might even feel more longing than Clouds. |

| Woven Hand – To Make A Ring Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| David Eugene Edwards has the audacity to both strike fear in the very core of your being and yet prophesy goodness over your soul at the same time. There's never been another artist like him, nor will there ever be. This song sums up all of the power of DEE wrapped into one single mission. As noted above -- intense and amazing -- and shall I add, utterly awesome. | |
| Coldplay – Warning Sign Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Someone here said this song would haunt you like a ghost. I think that is a perfect description. The backward effect of that guitar melody perfectly captures the chording and the words of the song. Chris Martin's voice is simply paralyzing. The piano and him alone at the end are perfect... and if you listen closely in your ipod headphones, turned way up, you can hear the creak of a chair. He is sitting, not at a studio keyboard, but at a real piano. It's just one more way that this song appeals in its authenticity. | |
| The 77s – Don't, This Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is one of the most beautiful songs ever created, a song about a splitting up and probably of an eventual divorce. The guitar solos ache for this situation to be resolved/redeemed. I highly recommend you seek this song out and listen to it many times. I often find it in my head, and it was written over 15 (?!) years ago. | |
