| Cake – Comfort Eagle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think you guys have it backwards. It's not about the commercialization of religion, it's about the religion that IS commercialization. Think about it. Jonas Brothers. Hannah Montana. It's like an obsession. The Beatles were close to being greater than god, but all sorts of suckish people like the previously mentioned Disney sellouts ARE more popular than god. perhaps that's why today sucks. Though I think alexf1225 hit a good note as well. |

| Linkin Park – In The End Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Linkin Park....no other band can so perfectly mix rap and metal. Beasty Boys tried and failed. Red Hot Chili Peppers have discovered as of late that it isn't really their direction...Linkin Park is truly the best. This song inparticular is a beautiful song; I agree with ScaryGirl, it's about how eventually you will be forgotten. Every last soul on the planet will one day be forgotten. |

| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
it is not about lord of the rings. frodo is a dude--wait, I get the meaning. but anyway. stairway to heaven has no meaning. it's the same thing that makes "I am the walrus" (beatles) a great song-it sounds like it should mean something but the lyrics are a load of crap that make just little enough sense that you spend hours upon hours trying to figure out when really page and plant are sending you on the world's biggest wild goose chase. it's like the mona lisa of rock songs. but then I can understand why people listen to it backwards-especially with the line "cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Purple Haze Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
abovetheclouds must be above the clouds right now. it's not about drugs. I hate it when people say that. it is about a dream. he called it purple haze because when you're underwater looking around you it looks bluish purple. he wasn't high as often as you would think. he was always clean for his concerts, that's a fact. he was a druggie, but he wasn't a liar. |

| well it's obviously in great reverence; liam writes most of his songs about real people, and neil taught liam every thing he knows. | |
| Liam Finn – Lead Balloon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
you should see liamfinn.tv Here's the real lyrics: Its a sad day when it comes to this but a free man is a happier man walk home and reminisce you were the highlight of the party my head feels like a lead balloon I've got little to no memory I blame myself and so do you in the wee hours of the morning Stuck in traffic Lost in memories of when we were naked in love take no prisoners leave no traces one day we'll be laughing loudly mad man with a nervous twitch you'll find love in a cemetery young girl enormous soul with a heart full of her family stumbled on something gold is it IQ is a metaphor dab hand at a million things but you know what you're good for |

| Liam Finn – Second Chance Lyrics | 17 years ago |

great song. I originally thought it was about the crazy lady who lives in my town. But I now agree with the bitter end to a relationship. |

| Liam Finn – Gather To The Chapel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Liam wrote this about Paul Hester, the drummer from crowded house (his father, neil's band). Liam used to call paul "uncle". But in 2002 Paul hung himself in a public park. It was one of those things that makes you want to cry, shout, and bum all at the same time. | |

| Yes – South Side of the Sky Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I have no comment on this song. It is awesome. It is pure, original. Bottom line, it has the coolest sound effects ever. However, I find that, be it about an expedition to Antarctica or not, it's the things people can see beneath the lyrics that's cool. I myself don't find an expedition in Antarctica that interesting, but to put it in the context of an inhumanely cold land that never ends no matter how far you walk sounds cool. I pictured it like that, and as they lead to the change "Were we ever WARMER on that day?", it becomes them passing out from the cold and dreaming about a desert, hot and dry, the exact opposite of the total hell they endured in the freezing cold. | |
| Yes – Roundabout Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| From the lyrics-now don't be too shocked- but the limmeric "In and around the lake, mountains come out of the sky and they stand there" talks about recording in that huge recording studio that every artist in the 70s wanted to record at-not because of the studio itself-but because of the amasing sights and scenery. Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" is about the same thing, by my guess. The smoke on the water is actually steam rising off the top of the lake mentioned in Roundabout. | |
| Yes – We Have Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Since this album is about (sort of) the harmful effects of pollution, since this was when we really understood the harmful effects of pollution, I think that this song is about the perfect world-where no one polluted, and the choir would shout "WE HAVE HEAVEN!". That's what I think of. | |
