Catchy song, great for doing nothing in the sun. My interpretation of this fairly self explanatory song: "Hanging around with you it's like the sunshine's always out" Comparing the good feelings of summer weather with his relationship with a girl "So I move in with you - I move straight back out" He moves in but things don't go so well "I've got someone, a little something for you Like pouring rain on snow or a stone inside your shoe Hey! hey!" Unlike how she made him feel, through someone or something he has done he has made her upset or irritated her somehow. "No I'm not laughing at you, just 'cos I'm not living with you" Break down in communication, he needs to explain why he is laughing cos she feels its at her. Maybe she is self conscious or insecure in their relationship. "No I never really believed, I really really see now I see" Maybe the feelings he felt at the beginning of the song were not thought through, now he is having second thoughts. "Hanging around with you I'm like a thorn deep in your side I learned how to fight the thunderclap with tight-shut eyes I've got someone, she's a little something for you Like rainfall all through June or a stone inside your shoe Hey! hey!" The someone else that he has met is causing tension in their relationship. The song is therefore about the breakdown of a fleeting relationship with a girl. Things are great, perfect perhaps. But then he meets someone else, and the relationship falls apart. Oh well, better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all! |

| The Vaccines – Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra) Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Quite self-explanatory lyrics, my interpretation of the lyrics is that a teenager is growing up. He outgrows his relationship with his girl. Instrumentally and structurally the song is quite simple - but catchy. A great radio song. "Pretty girl, wreckin' bar, Ra ra ra ra yeah you are!" Looks are deceptive - the pretty ones are the nasty ones! ra ra ra ra yes they are! "Growin' up, I'm twice the man, Yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah I am!" The transition between being a teenager and an adult is shown here - he literally feels like twice the man he was. "The angels gave F. Scott Fitzgerald, The evening news and the morning herald, I know that you're from very far, Les femmes, les bars; c'est pas une joie!" Reference to the author here, I am not familiar but I imagine the French has some relation to his work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F._Scott_Fitzgerald "Where you been?" you can say, Hey hey hey hey yeah you may! That might seem a bit below, No no no it's funny though!" As he grows up, he becomes more independent than he was as a teenager. This independence spills over into his relationship, and he almost rebels against the girl, as he doesn't take the relationship as seriously as he did as a teen so it (and the girl) become 'funny'. "Let's go home I think we oughta, I know you're your Mother's daughter, Well brought up; royal blue, I haven't got the time for you!" Again, the rebellion towards the relationship is shown as the singer becomes an adult. He would rather spend his time with friends, career, etc. "Finger pointing, presupposing, Watch out, man, that door's a-closing, This is what you get when you turn your back, A clear blue sky turning dirty black!" The final stage of the relationship - things become bitter, and a sense of distrust appears. The door closing is a metaphor for this final stage. Dirty black symbolizes the bitterness that penetrates the relationship. He has therefore outgrown the girl and the relationship. |

| Camera Obscura – Razzle Dazzle Rose Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I guess the song is about growing up, things changing. The singer is 'trying' to be happy, but isn't. "Expecting softness can lead to foolishness" My interpretation of this line is that the singer put their faith in a friend or lover, by trusting them. The singer was then hurt/betrayed. The song gives me the a feeling of nostalgia. |

| The Russian Futurists – Walk With A Crutch Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
crux of the lyrics: "You've got a choice to make There's walking with a crutch, standing tall Or not standing at all" Basically he is saying that the person needs to give 'it' their all, and stop relying on whatever their crutch is. |

| The Vaccines – A Lack Of Understanding Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Self explanatory, although we don't know why he has "too much time on my hands"... just a communication breakdown in a relationship. | |
| Kings of Leon – Soft Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"Two songs on the disc refer to his anxiety about going bald, and another one called "Soft" is fairly self-explanatory. "If all people want to talk about is, 'The Kings of Leon do drugs and hang out with models,' I'm gonna give it to them straight," he says. "You want to talk about how you saw me doing blow with such-and-such supermodel? Well you know what my rebuttal is gonna be? 'I couldn't get my dick hard that night.'"" http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/kingsofleon/articles/story/7047711/kings_of_rock |
