@TheMisfitDreamer - In this song he actually recognises the existence of a God, he just doesn’t have as much faith as you seem to have. For all I care, he could have great faith and be in a moment of weakness. Even Jesus had one, remember?: 'My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?' (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34). It's part of human nature. On the other hand, even if he doesn't believe in a god, he could just be provoking people that do believe. |

Could it be about a relationship that didn't even began? Feeling that some person could be the one but then he realises that that person doesn't feel the same way about him. All the time they were together was seen differently by each one, then he understands this and his hope of ever having him/her is over: "I know it's over / and it never really began / but in my heart it was so real". To me he is saying that this was a love only he could see. Or maybe i see it this way for personal reasons. |
