Five Iron Frenzy – Every New Day Lyrics 12 years ago
In William Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience, the poems are written in sets - one from the point of view of innocence, and one from experience. I think he refers to the Tyger here so that we see this as a song of innocence, written at the beginning of life- he finishes the song with On Distant Shores which is a song of experience, written near the end of life after struggling

Deas Vail – Shoreline Lyrics 14 years ago
Deas Vail's lyrics are usually, quite spiritual when you dig into them.
This song is about our separation from and longing for God.
Instead of living in heaven with God, we're left on earth.
This is like being left dry on the shoreline, only being able to see the surface of the sea(God's glory and heaven), wanting to dive in and experience the freshness and depth. In order to be with God again, we need to be emptied of ourselves and our sins and be filled instead with love. While we live on earth, we can see evidence of God all around us, but our whole knowledge of Him is us living separated from Him because of our imperfection. We long to be with God and call out to him in song and prayer, but if we were with Him in our imperfection and sin, His perfection verses our imperfection would leave us destroyed. So we need to dig deep into the mess of sin inside of ourselves in order to sort out how to die to ourselves and be more like God, so we can better understand Him and our place in His presence.

The Wedding – Redeem Lyrics 17 years ago
i believe the lines should be typed "Jesus Christ," Satellites are calling. That we Christians are orbiting our lives around our model of Christ and that we're calling out to him to know him and his love. We know we are not alone as we try to follow in his steps.

Showbread – And The Smokers And Children Shall Be Cast Down Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the last two lines are talking about forgiveness. Putting lipstick on your mirror is like the covering of sins. It doesn't change the fact that you've committed them, but covers them up as far as we can see. This ties into the previous line of "Sing of your mistakes," which is talking about the concept of confessing of our sins for God to cover them.
I think the last "Cry into your hands" is the hopelessness we humans feel from being just human and below the perfection of God.
