Kimn, that's a really interesting take on it. I know Jon, and I know that he tries to write from the perspective of the person whose story he's trying to convey. I've not talked to him about this particular song, but I believe that the reason that he doesn't say anything positive about the girl is because that's how girls feel so often. The song is intended to portray the rut so many girls seem to find themselves in, from which they feel that there is no way out.
As far as the lemonade thing, yeah, it's a bit cheesy, but what can ya do. :) |
