i think he just tries to give everyone their own meaning so that everyone can relate and so that its not all about his own feelings. it is interpretated differently. |

the peoplethat are saying muse doesnt care about war is very wrong. much of their music was influenced by the gulf war. they had a completely different feel to one of their albums..i think it might have been absolution , and then the gulf war happened and they took their emotions from that into it. true they try not to put politics into their music but they do care about teh war. dont say they dont. |

Oh and I'd like to add that I think he's mad that we are supposed to thank God for all our accomplishments and achievements and be thankful we have them. Matt feels God is taking away all he has achieved because supposedly God is the reason that we have what we ahve instead of us being able to take credit. I can really relate to that because I do not really belive in a god and I think it is stupid that we are supposed to be punished for our wrong doings and then when we do great, we aren't the ones to be thanked? |

I agree with the people who feel that it is about his anger to God. But he isn't mad at "God" he is mad at the belief that people have of a greater being that is supposed to help us. Matthew is an atheist and he is mad that people have been left down by the one thing that everyone can look to.
Maybe Matthew feels he is growing stronger and that he is meant to destroy the false belief of a god?
There may be a relationship reference in there but I don't think it really is of much importance and that Matt is trying to get out the feeling of frustration of people being let down by this false image. |
