| Strawberry Alarm Clock – Incense and Peppermints Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I don't know about anyone else, but I play this song non-stop when I cramming for finals Some the lyrics just seem to fit. "Dead kings, many things I can't define Occasions, persuasions clutter your mind" "Incense and peppermints, meaningless nouns" These lines pretty much sum up the state of my mind during cramming. "Turn on, tune in, turn your eyes around " A actually quote this line to get myself to focus. "A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view" That is exactly what a final is. ;) "To divide this cockeyed world in two Throw your pride to one side, it's the least you can do" "Little to win but nothin' to lose" To me this means that no matter how bad I think I'm going to do, I'd might as well take them. |

I found this by accident two days ago when I had to rewrite a paper in a hurry. I've now listened to it about 50 times. I don't want to stop at all! |

| I knew a guy, a car salesman, who was just like the guy in this song. He was telling fantastic stories like that. | |

| I have to disagree with a lot of you here. I don't think the jester who "sang for the king and queen" was Bob Dylan. I think the jester was Elvis, because the lyrics refer to jester stealing the king's "thorny crown". I see this as a reference to Jesus who wore a crown of thorns. Plus, I don't consider Elvis good enough to be the "King of Rock and Roll." | |
