| Joseph Arthur – In The Sun Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song makes me think of a good friend that got caught in between all he wished for and all he needs. he used to be a guy of faith, a man who loved because he was loved. i picture him in the sun, wondering what went wrong... falling down on his knees and asking for sympathy- from the God he walked away from. i love this song because it is a struggle of faith that i have felt myself and i see in some of my friends. you want to be that mirror that they were for you, but you face getting pulled back in to where they are... so all you can do is wish the love of God on them. | |
| Enter the Worship Circle – It's My Joy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is simply the exemplification of worship and glory to our great king. i want to dance wild every time i listen to it. | |
| Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i thought this was interesting: the "steely knives" part of the song is a nod to Steely Dan, who referenced the Eagles in the song "Everything You Did" (wikipedia. reliable?) |

| Sufjan Stevens – In the Devil's Territory Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| has anyone thought that this is John talking to Jesus about what his dream is (that is, Revelations)? john makes mention of dragons and beasts several times in the book, as well as evil spirits and witches whine could be the perishing of evil people after Christ comes and evil reigns for a period of time. i'm writing a paper on it, and it just struck me. | |
| Brand New – Limousine Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Brand New – Degausser Lyrics | 17 years ago |

dude, jesse lacey has dozens of songs that have an overt religious meaning, whether that be doubtful of any faith at all or a profession of such. i think this song is cool, like he is constantly questioning his faith in his music, especially the new(er) stuff. i think the last part: Take me, take me back to your bed I love you so much that it hurts my head I don't mind you under my skin I'll let the bad parts in, the bad parts in Well you're my favorite bird and when you sing I really do wish that you'd wear my ring No matter what they say, I am still the king And now the storm is coming The storm is coming in is a change of voice. i think this is god speaking, saying that he loves us no matter what, no matter how bad or wretched. "i really do wish you would wear my ring," he wants us to love him back. "no matter what they say, i am still the king," god recognizes the doubters and still loves... the last part is my favorite if you look at it as god speaking, "now the storm is coming in" which means to me that there are still storms in whatever faith you have... believing in god or a god does not mean that your life is perfect and pain free. it's kind of like, love me because i love you, but there will still be dark times. ... just what i think. |

| Blues Traveler – Just Wait Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song makes me think of suicide. somebody is teetering on the edge, and the singer just wants them to wait, just wait. i love it, you can feel the emotion in his voice. | |
| OneRepublic – Mercy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| oh, i don't think it has anything to do with a boy and a girl. i listen to it as if it is a man in disbelief that God would love him anyways, regardless of all that he has done. "How did you find me, how did you pick me up again?" How he says the tragedy is over and the spot that is still the same, but his life is different because of the "Angel of Mercy." | |
