I AGREE!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE SADE SONGS TOO!!! I think that she is using the metaphor of the gun to say that he used her love as an advantage hurt her. What I mean is when someone knows that you truly love them sometimes they seem to take it for granted and they tend to take advantage as well. But I definitely agree that the tables were turned. And in the end she learned alot. |

First of all...I ADORE THIS SONG. i feel like I can completely relate to it. Personally I dont really think that the "new guy" is a rebound. I think that she is actually happy that she found him because she refers to him as her saviour(you came along...when i need a saviour), yet she is still cautious because of the damage that her ex left behind. Though i must admit, PotholesinMyLawn made a good point about her still being in the relationship (that made me think). She also says, "here I am," as if she is giving herself to the new person but, as i said before, just a tad bit apprehensive because she does not want to be hurt. |
