I don't hear any TBS but I definitely get the Nirvana meets Modest Mouse. Just a general thought on the meaning of the song to me is that it's about one of their ex's getting married although he still loves her. A lot of the song talks about easing the pain that probably comes with being in the situation and the part that goes "I'm slowly bringing you down from the Heavenly gate, Now I'm drowning in the lake I made, Well explain myself to me on the otherside, I'll watch from Heaven when I die" is talking about trying to drag her down in the eyes of people around her which in turn makes him look bad too which would tie into the drowning bit. |

I'm pretty sure at least the second "to my babe" is actually "to be my bait" or "to be my bane". |

I without a doubt hear "For the town to come and reparate.." And I also hear instead of "In lieu of their romantic pallet", "In lieu of a romantic palace". I think it is be "I'm leaving you to nurse your cherished wounds". Anyways I think those changed lyrics make the song's meaning a lot different. Jesse Lacy and Brand New are brilliant lyricists as well as musicians. I can't get enough of their stuff. |

They definitely sold out. Stupid lyrics but they're catchy as hell. I put them in the same catagory as Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy. Fall Out Boy was good on their first CD, but look what happened to them now. Against Me! is walking the same path. |
