I love this song so much. It helped me through my depression when I felt as worst! I think this song is about both depression and AD/HD. I have ADD and can relate to prety much every line in the song. "'Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes, Talking with strangers, waiting in line I'm through with these pills that make me sit still" to calm down and to wait on something is really big problems if you have AD/HD. I think the pills is about AD/HD medication like Ritalin, concerta etc which you get to calm down. "I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!" if you have AD/HD your always restless, and you can start doing fairly pointles things just to keep youself busy. And since you´r so distracted is it easy to forget importent things like that your oven is on. I have been near to put our department on fire several times. "I used to rely on self-medication I guess I still do that from time to time But I'm getting better at fighting the future" People with AD/HD do easily get in to addictons. It dosen´t necessarily have to be alcohol or drugs, but in this case I guess it´s about the first one. And with time you start to learn more about your "sickness" and now better how to deal with it! almost everyone with this diagnos do aswell feel very depressed since ther is so hard to fit in to the society. |
