Deftones – Change (In the House of Flies) Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's about a guy who loved a girl but she changed in front of him and he didn't no how to react and so sadistically tortured her then starts to realise what he's done and feels guilty for it.

Muse – Hysteria Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's about a guy going mad over a girl.

The whole idea of the song, video and the title for me all tie into this interpretation.

Oceansize – Long Forgotten Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's about two people in an intimate relationship and then they break up and the other person moves on and it's written from the point of view of the other person who can't forget about it and continues to wait for their ex to come back to them.

It's an amazing song to end one of the best albums of the 21st century.

Led Zeppelin – Good Times Bad Times Lyrics 18 years ago
double drums in this song = amazing

Bonham uses single pedal on this. Simply about how everyone has good times and bad times and that people should push forward to the good time rather than dwell on the bad time. Amaizng solos and everything in it is amazing really.

Thin Lizzy – Emerald Lyrics 18 years ago
The line 'to overthrow the overlords' suggests a revolution to me. I'd agree with Plantmiester on this one.

Led Zeppelin – Black Dog Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this is about a relationship with a girl who turned out to just want his money. He sees her and I'd assume he has sexual fantasies about her and ends up with her then she takes his stuff and leaves him. Sweet riff though I don't think I've heard an intro track that starts as dyamically as this.

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics 18 years ago
A lot of people re taking this song out of context. This song is at the point where Pink has become a rockstar. Howver due to the wall that is almost complete he is going insane after his girlfriend has an affair and he was too distant to notice. He has to go and perform for a show and at the start someone is coming into his room maybe to get him to go or something. Anyway, they notice hes not right and give him a shot of something to make him able to play the next show. The bits Pink is singing is just delirious rantings about memories, and as his father died in WWII, the song before could be him lapsing into the memories and the past causing his state in this song. Anyway that's my interpratation from watching the film.

Linkin Park – Shadow Of The Day Lyrics 18 years ago
This band has developed a lot. On the previous albums their songs have been about themselves but now they're starting to look at the bigger picture. I think it has a similar meaning to sound of silence. Sounds to me lyk it's about people shutting themselves away from the problems of the world and not taking any action against the injustices. As everyone does this and no-one speaks out the sun sets and the shadows cover the world. I think when he says 'sometimes goodbye's the only way' suggests that people can do something to prevent these issues but choose to run from the problems rather than stay and fight them. I haven't actually got this CD but from what I've heard of it it's a lot deeper than previous CDs.

30 Seconds to Mars – The Kill Lyrics 18 years ago
I think Chaotic mess has pretty much got it but I think the girl's deliberatly screwing with his mind, telling him she wants him and yet doesn't seem to do anything and then is trying to give up on her and try to get over her after realising he was trying to get her by being someone he's not.

Garbage – Medication Lyrics 18 years ago
Man this song is immense. Shirley truly at her song writing best. Sounds so amazingly deep that I don't think anyone but her could really say what it's about but I'm going to try anyway. It makes me think of someone who's on anti-depressants. The verses are quite mellow musically and quite calm, maybe suggesting that the person is on them at that time and is quite calm and clear headed. During the chorus it gets more violent suggesting that maybe the drugs have worn off showing the true person behind them. I also think it's about someone who is on them due to depression and feeling lonely and isolated from the rest of the world.

Cradle of Filth – Lord Abortion Lyrics 18 years ago
Everyone else seems to have already answered almost every possible question but there's one line no-ones explained. "I weep, they merely stare". Throughout the song he shows a sadomaochisitc pleasure from this and yet that shows almost repentance for what he's done. Anyone know what that line means?

System of a Down – Toxicity Lyrics 18 years ago
Wow this is such a great song no-one really knows what it's about. I think it's written from the point of view of someone from his (Serj Tankians) home country Lebanon about America. The lines "Conversion, software version 7.0" and "Eating seeds as a past time activity" are suggestive of a certain amount of bitterness about the Americans having everything and them having nothing. The latter also suggests this as it seems to say that they eat seeds as a past time activity when we have no or little basic requirements and you eat because you're bored. The chorus seems to be about how America claims to own the world and yet there's so much disorder and chaos in their country that it seems no-one can own it. I think the second part is a call for America to realise how while they have everything, there are people living in poverty that could be helped if they tried. The second verse seems to give the same bitter message as the first. The end plain confuses me. Anyway that's what I think although I could have completely the wrong impression of Lebanon although it could be from any similar country not specifically Lebanon.
