To me, this song seems to written from God's point of view. There are so many references to biblical things in this song. Amazing lyrics... Where're you gonna go That I can't see? 'Cause I have heard your cry And it breaks my heart For I love you so I would never lie This is not the end There is still a hope. |

| Anberlin – Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Someone asked about the line, "If London's calling don't you dare pick up the phone," is just alluding to the Clash, as they had an (very famous) album named London Calling. Also, Stephen Patrick is Morrisey, singer/lyricist for The Smiths, an influential 80's alt. rock band. And of course, the song title is in reference to Christa Paffgen, among other things a singer/songwriter with ties with the Velvet Underground. A lot of late 70's/early 80's music icons mentioned here. | |

| Just an idea but Blue Oyster Cult was from New York. In New York, there are two mental hospitals named Four Winds. A lot of recovering alcoholics go there. "Four Winds Bar"... "windows barred"... I never heard this suggested before, but I've always wondered. What do you think? Plausible? | |
