Its always frightening when you realize just how much a song can mirror your own life. I mean, I've known this song forever, yet it only just started to really mean anything to me. It sort of hit my life, and now I can really understand what the song is about. Nothing is fine, even though we're still together. Because even when there really is nothing left to say, and the only thing which holds a couple together is a memory of how things used to be, it's hard to let go. Nearly impossible actually. And the line "tell me a lie." It's saying that "i'm not yours, you're not mine." Its over. And it's only a matter of time before it really comes home. |

| if you take a careful look at the rest of the songs on the album, you'll find that the main themes of each song are variations of this same tune. they are either slowed down or distorted to an extent, but a good example of this lies in "non objective portrait of karma". the intro bears striking resemblances to this song, as well as the main theme of the album. This fits with the idea of leaving only find yourself in the same place. no matter what happens or where you go, there is always this little bit which stays with you no matter what. in the case of the album, it is that one them. | |

| a boy and a girl, or even a man and a woman find, that despite how wonderful things are, everything seems to be falling apart. the man has to cope with the fact that he is destroying things little by little, all the while trying to save everything from being entirely ruined. the woman has started to move on, and all that he can think of is the way things used to be, the way that things should be again. it feels like all thats left is sex, and despite everything else that is falling apart, they can still find solace in each other so long as they can hold on to each other. | |
