I think this is a fantastic song that can be interpreted several ways. Whether you want to look at it as a boy/girl attraction or an attraction between two boys it is still essentially about having feeling for someone and being afraid to act on it. Incredible song. It's so powerful and emotional. This is a quote from Kele, on the Bloc Party website about this song: "It was inspired by the fact that in 2005 two of my friends told me that they tried to kill themselves after leaving university. I thought that was really sad. Opting out was more attractive than the idea of enduring a life." I also disagree with the people that were disappointed with this album. I really think that this album flows and I love all of the songs on it. Silent Alarm is fantastic as well. I think they are both great albums. Bloc Party are amazing. |

I'm like a couple of people here, I really didn't like this song or "Like O, Like H" for the longest time. I have to say they grew on me. I adore this album. I think it's one that you have to listen to a lot to understand completely. I also think you have to listen to it from start to finish, well that's what happens when I go to listen to a single track anyway... :-D |

I have a couple of mistakes to correct. Hollered not hollared. You have in the first chorus, when the lights went down you shined. It's 'shone'. Like a mirrored train at dawn, not mirror. | I am obsessed with this album. I can no longer listen to the songs separately, I feel like I have to listen to the whole album to get the full picture. I, like others, felt nothing could top "So Jealous" but I feel that Tegan & Sara have evolved once again with their lyrics and music. Fantastic album. Fantastic songs. Has anyone seen the bonus dvd "The Con"? It's really good and gives you lots of insight into the individual songs and how an album is recorded and produced. Love this album. | |
